You may have heard a "rumor" that the Star Trek Into Darkness actor was up for the role of J'onn J'onzz in WB's planned Justice League movie. Well, he isn't, but we do have a pretty cool fan-made depiction of what he might look like as the character.

First of all we'll shed some light on how this whole thing started. Basically the website Movie Pilot fan-cast Cumberbatch in the role of the Martian Manhunter, and then IB Times ran with that as a "rumor" that he was actually up for the role. Now it's out there and other sites are picking it up, but obviously it's horseshit. Still, they did post this pic of Cumby as the fan-favorite Martian:

I think he'd be an excellent mo-cap Brainiac. I doubt he'd do it though, as he already played a villain in Stark Trek and The Hobbit films.

Ever since Carl Lumbly played the character on Justice League, I've been partial towards an African American actor playing that role since I'd like it to have a similar vibe. Cumberbatch might be good though.

@JorL5150 and @DaneMendieta Cyborg is as great of a character as Martian Manhunter, it's just that Cyborg should be with the Teen Titans and Manhunter with the Justice League. If you think about it the characters actually have the same role in their respective teams.

I like Martian Manhunter and would love for him to be introduced at some point. Unpopular opinion: I think Idris Elba should play him and not John Stewart.
