X-MEN: APOCALYPSE Will Return To Shoot In Montreal Next April
After filming X-Men: Days Of Future Past there; Fox, Bryan Singer and their cast and crew will return to Montreal, Canada, to shoot the next instalment in the block-busting mutant saga. More past the jump..
Journal de Montreal report that Bryan Singer and his production team will return to shoot X-Men: Apocalypse in Montreal, Canada, next April, with set construction scheduled to begin this December. Apparently they will once again utilize the 27-acre studio facility Mel’s Cité du Cinema. When Days Of Future Past shot there, up to forty sets were built there, the biggest of which was an Exterior Monastery that covered Mel’s 36,500-square-foot Studio H. There was also extensive location filming at nearly 40 separate sites around the Canadian city. Apocalypse will only be the second X-flick to shoot in Montreal, with the previous films in the series largely shot in Ontario and British Columbia, while spinoffs X-Men Origins: Wolverine and The Wolverine were both filmed in Australia.
