'Quicksilver' & A Female Lead Could Feature In The Planned X-MEN/X-FACTOR TV Series

After Bleeding Cool's initial rumor of an X-Men tv show being in the pipeline, it's looking more and more likely that Fox do indeed have solid plans for one, with other sites doing some digging. Here are some interesting new titbits from Film Divider..

In an update to the X-Men tv series report, we heard that the show may well be based on Peter David's acclaimed X-Factor comic run which saw Jamie Madrox, aka Multiple Man, setting up a detective agency. The website Film Divider add that they've heard this is "more than just a possibility", and have some extra details too.

The X-Men TV Show Will Probably Include These Mutants image

According to them Fox have been struggling to decide on a group of main characters for the show, and might be wary of going the Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. route of using mostly unknown or new faces. To remedy this, one character that's apparently being talked about is X-Men: Days Of Future Past's Quicksilver (Evan Peters), but since he appeared in the past timeline of that movie it's unclear if they'd give the show a period setting, or simply recast the role and use an older version of the character. There's also mention of the series utilizing a female lead, though the site have no details on who that could be. If the show will be based on David's X-Factor run however, that could well be former New Mutant Rahne Sinclair (Wolfsbane), with other possibilities including Polaris, Siryn and Layla Miller. That's pure speculation of course, but if this is their plan, which character would you like to see? More at the link below.

I could see it happening, the idea sure is great. I've always thought that Fox should make a TV Series set in the X-Men universe as there are SO many things they could do with it. They can even make original characters like Marvel did with Agents of SHIELD, as long as the plot is really good.

I always thought the X-men would be good for tv. Better have a good budget for this tv series.

Quicksilver's still a tweener in the past . Unless they set this during Apocalypse.

Two speedsters on TV series that don't have the budget for superspeed fx? What the hell, why not?

When (post M-Day) Quicksilver joined the cast is when the recent X-Factor jumped the shark for me. He was great in classic X-Factor though.

I really hope this works, but I just don't think there's going to be much of an audience if they go the Quicksilver/X-Factor route. That's not how the general public thinks of X-Men. I think they'd be missing a much, much bigger audience if they went for something more familiar, and maybe called it "The Xavier Institute," or something like that.

Side note: I have one more X-scoop I'll be dropping soon.

And let's not forget that the X-Factor comic series was recently canceled due to low sales. Definitely not the route to go for a show in my book.

If would be really interesting if they could set this show in the present and utilize the actors from the original films. Unlike the MCU and First Class films, most of the major actors also work in television. Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, James Marsden, Famke Janssen, Halle Berry, Anna Paquin, Shawn Ashmore and Kelsey Grammar are all currently or were recently on TV shows.

If they wanted to, they could easily weave any or all of those characters into a potential TV series.

Not sure about using unknown or made up mutants for the show because there is plenty of mutant characters to use. There's already enough characters from the X-factor team.

Layla Miller could carry a tv show on her own.
There's so much potential, hopefully Fox knows what to do with it.

Maybe they can do a X-Men and Gotham crossover, cos you know, it's FOX.

Maybe they can set X-Factor in the 10 year interval from DOFP to Apocalypse for Quicksilver?

Also, how the hell was DOFP depressing? That was one of the most hope-filled, positive CBMs of all time! Did you even watch the movie?

a show in the past too?? hell no, why limiting the show? it should be in present time to use whatever they want, and keep moving forward, with maybe using adult actors from original trilogy, Xforce potential crossover and all of that.

Perhaps cast an older Quicksilver who serves as the leader/mentor to a young group of mutants?
