Hannah Waddingham Joins GAME OF THRONES Season 5 As 'Septa Unella'
A late casting addition to the fifth season of HBO's excellent fantasy drama series is British theatre actress/singer Hannah Waddingham (How To Lose Friends And Alienate People, Les Misérables) who'll play the devout, stern Septa Unella.
HBO have confirmed to Watchers On The Wall.com that Hannah Waddingham will play Septa Unella in the currently shooting fifth season of Game Of Thrones. Unella is a septa of the Faith of the Seven, in service at the Great Sept of Baelor in King's Landing. In the books she is assigned to get confessions from both Margaery Tyrell and Cersei Lannister, in the build up to the latter's "penance walk". The character is described as “a member of the Most Devout, the highest ranking clergy, she enforces strict adherence to her religion’s laws.” Waddingham has a few movie roles to her credit, but is best known for her British tv and musical theatre work. She starred in A Little Night Music, Into the Woods, The Wizard of Oz and won acclaim playing the Lady of the Lake in the original London production of Spamalot.
