First Look At 'Darth Vader' On STAR WARS REBELS

Well, a look at his holographic visage anyway! David Prowse (who played the Dark Lord of the Sith in the original Star Wars movies) has Tweeted out a screencap from Star Wars Rebels, providing our first glimpse of how Vader will appear on the show.

As we know, when the critically acclaimed Star Wars Rebels: Spark of Rebellion airs on ABC on Sunday, October 26 (7:00 p.m. ET/PT) it'll include an extra scene featuring once of the most iconic villains in film history, Darth Vader. The scene is expected to depict Vader (once again voiced by James Earl Jones) conversing with the big bad of the animated series, The Inquisitor, and sure enough that appears to be what's going on in the image below.

Set between the events of Star Wars Episodes III and IV, the Star Wars Rebels story unfolds during a dark time when the evil Galactic Empire is tightening its grip of power on the galaxy. Imperial forces have occupied a remote planet and are ruining the lives of its people. The motley but clever crew of the starship Ghost – cowboy Jedi Kanan, ace pilot Hera, street-smart teenager Ezra, the “muscle” Zeb, warrior firebrand Sabine, and grumpy old astromech droid Chopper – will face threatening new villains, embark on thrilling adventures and become heroes with the power to ignite a rebellion. The voice cast includes Freddie Prinze Jr. as Kanan, Vanessa Marshall as Hera, Steve Blum as Zeb, Tiya Sircar as Sabine, Taylor Gray as Ezra, David Oyelowo as Agent Kallus and Jason Isaacs as the Inquisitor. “Star Wars Rebels” is created by Dave Filoni (“Star Wars: The Clone Wars”), Simon Kinberg (“X-Men: Days of Future Past,” “Sherlock Holmes”), and Carrie Beck. The Lucasfilm Animation production is also executive-produced by Filoni and Kinberg as well as Greg Weisman (“Gargoyles”).

Is it only going to be a holographic appearance? That's disappointing.

Tell you one thing. I haven't been this excited about anything related to Star Wars in a long time. With all this news from Episode 7 and Rebels, I'm pumped. BOUT FREAKING TIME

David Prowse tweeted that?! Interesting. I would have thought him too salty to promote a Vader that didn't include himself in the suit. Or the maker forbid, his voice...

I actually really love Rebels so far. It's the first show that my son and I are both at the same level of excitement about.

Really enjoyed the pilot movie, Spark of Rebellion. The follow up episode, Droids in Distress, wasn't quite as good, but it was nice seeing R2-D2 and C-3PO again. I've also been catching up on The Clone Wars and, wow, it's such a good show. Massive spike in quality from the awful 2008 intro movie, and I saw "awful" as someone who liked all three prequels. Anyways, great time to be a Star Wars fanatic.

@JredTheRed

Because Disney owns both Star Wars and ABC.

So, money.

Money is the answer.

It would be nice if James Earl Jones actually got to play a character in EpVII, only to have him be. voiced over by David Prowse.
Vader is so evil.

Looks like it was inspired by Ralph McQuarrie. Which is beast. Best movie villain ever imo.
