Since its debut in China recently, Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy has pulled in an impressive $84.4M. This gives the James Gunn directed space-adventure a worldwide haul of over $750M, taking it past Bryan Singer's X-Men: Days of Future Past to become the highest grossing superhero movie of 2014, with only Maleficent and Transformers: Age Of Extinction in its way as highest grossing movie period. Not bad for a team of A-holes nobody had heard of eh?

does that mean it's time for people to post screen shots of all the idiots saying this movie would bomb or that it would never pass DOFP? I know that those idiots will likely delete their accounts and create a new one to hide from the shame.

Opened in Italy to $3.4M for comparison, X-Men DOFP opened to almost $3.2M to go on to almost a $9M take, sure GotG will do about the same there...so add 6M more from Italy, more from China too...

As much as I've grown to like Guardians, Captain America: The Winter Soldier is my favorite Marvel (not just MCU, but Marvel) movie of all time, and I would argue Marvel's ultimate best.

Black Widow was so much more likable in TWS than her previous movies

I hear they don't like this movie as much overseas.
Has to do with the poor translations and the fact that people overseas don't get American 80's humor.

Anyway, good on the Guardians.
Not Marvel's best movie, but still fun.
