Jessica Chastain Has Spoken With Marvel About A Future Role...CAPTAIN MARVEL Perhaps?

The Interstellar actress almost played a comic book character in Iron Man 3, but now it appears she's only interested in a CBM if she gets to be a full-on superhero! Chastain admits to MTV that there might be a Marvel role somewhere down the line...but who could it be?

You may remember back when Maya Hanson was being cast for Iron Man 3, at one point Jessica Chastain was in final talks to play the character. Unfortunately she had to drop out and Rebecca Hall wound up in the role, but by the sounds of things a part like that wouldn't have been up Chastain's alley anyway because, to paraphrase Colin Farrell's Daredevil character Bullseye, she wants a bloody costume -- and it looks like she might just get the chance to wear one. Since that departure with Marvel, fans have wondered if there'd be another opportunity for the Zero Dark Thirty actress to suit up as a different character, and when the Captain Marvel movie was announced last week she immediately shot to the top of many fan's wishlists. In an interview with MTV, Chastain reveals that there has been conversations, though she remains tight lipped about the specifics.

“We’ve talked about aligning our forces in the future. And here’s the thing with me… If you’re going to be in a superhero movie, you only get one chance. You’re that character forever. So why do a superhero movie and play the boring civilian? Whatever it is, I want a fight scene. I could be an incredible villain. I could be a hero. I want a cool outfit, and I want to kick ass. There was  thing...I don’t want to say too much – but there was one thing, there was a possibility in the future of the character becoming… And I was like, ‘I understand that, but I want to do it now.’"

So what about Carol Danvers then? Well, turns out Chastain is well aware of the planned movie for one thing. "Yes I do know about that," she told MTV when they brought the Captain Marvel flick up. "Listen, that’s 2018. We don’t know where we’ll be, maybe I’ll give up acting by then.”. Hmmm. "A future character becoming..." What? That could refer to Danvers gaining her powers, but of course it could also be a character we haven't heard mentioned yet. What do you guys think? Must....comment.....now!

She's believable in the role and I'd be happy if they picked her up, but I do have to say she'd be better as Queen Mera.

She would be a perfect Medusa in Inhumans, she's not right for Captain Marvel.

She's damn sexy & is one of the few beautiful actresses who really can act.
Many others get by on their looks alone.
I want her...umm...in a comic book movie.

Jessica doesn't favor Captain Marvel what so freaking ever. And I don't think she'd make a great Medusa because I've always pictured Medusa to be an athletic built type of character, and Jessica comes off as frail to me. I honestly don't even think she'd make a good Mera, you'd need an amazonian type of woman for that role.

Carol Danvers = Margot Robbie or (if she can act which I'm not sure) Amber Heard

I'm not sure but I could get used to it. She is great actress and she could handle it I guess.

She doesn't need a lead role if she doesn't want to say too much. An ensemble movie like the Inhumans would suit her best.

After seeing Iron Man 3 and how Maya Hansen was handled, I'm glad she wasn't in the film, I'd much rather see her as Medusa or Captain Marvel.
