THE CROW Remake Gets A New Director
Relativity Studios' long-planned remake of The Crow has finally found someone to take the helm. Deadline report that former music video director Corin Hardy will replace F. Javier Gutiérrez on the film, which is still set to star Luke Evans in the title role.
It seems Corin Hardy will direct Relativity Studios'' reboot/remake of The Crow, which is based on the acclaimed graphic novel by James O'Barr, filmed once already as the fan-favourite 1994 movie starring the late Brandon Lee. Hardy made his live action feature directing debut on a film called The Hallow, which will be released next year. Prior to that he got noticed for his animated short Butterfly, and for directing a number of music videos for the likes of Keane, Ed Dheeran and The Prodigy. We've had multiple reports that Luke Evans (The Hobbit films) is set to star as Eric Draven, and though Deadline make no mention of that, we'll have to assume he's still on board. Hardy replaces F. Javier Gutiérrez, who left the project to direct the next installment of The Ring franchise. Production is slated to start next Spring.
