X-MEN: Famke Janssen Comments On New 'Jean Grey' Potentials
Janssen, who has appeared as Jean Grey in 5 previous X-Men movies, had no idea who was in line to play the younger version of the character in Bryan Singer's X-Men: Apocalypse. When MTV fills her in she seems happy enough, though she doesn't see a big resemblance!
As we know, Chloe Grace Moretz (Kick-Ass, Carrie) Elle Fanning (Super 8, Maleficent) and Hailee Steinfeld (Ender's Game, True Grit) are the three actresses (that we've been made aware of so far) in line to play the younger version of telepathic mutant Jean Grey in the next installment in the X-franchise, X-Men: Apocalypse. Whoever lands the role will have their work cut out to follow the stunning Famke Janssen, who has done a fine job as the character in 5 of the previous films. When MTV asked the actress if she was aware of who's in the running, she says she's heard of all of them but, in Fanning's case particularly, doesn't see much of a resemblance. Janssen also says it's a little bittersweet knowing that she's being replaced in the role, but that maybe she could return and act alongside whoever is cast someday. Well, that worked in Days Of Future Past after all!
Bryan Singer is returning to direct X-Men: Apocalypse, his fourth X-Men movie. The film will also star James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence, Nicholas Hoult, and many others. It's set for release May 27th, 2016.
