TMNT 2: 'Bebop' & 'Rocksteady' Will Appear; 'Casey Jones' Likely

TMNT 2: 'Bebop' & 'Rocksteady' Will Appear; 'Casey Jones' Likely

Last night it was announced that David Green would take over directing duties from Jonathan Liebesman on the TMNT sequel, & now producers Brad Fuller & Andrew Form have confirmed that 2 fan-fave baddies & (possibly) a certain hockey mask-wearing vigilante will debut in the movie.

Despite a pretty sound critical mauling, most TMNT fans seemed to find something to enjoy in the recent reboot, though I think we could all agree that it could and should have been much better. Well, the planned sequel has a great opportunity to improve on the first movie now that David Green (found footage kid's flick Earth To Echo) is at the helm, replacing a director nobody really wanted anywhere near the franchise in the first place, Jonathan Liebesman.

Though we're not sure what story the sequel will follow, thanks to Michael Bay's Platinum Dunes producing partners Brad Fuller and Andrew Form, we do know a few of the new characters that'll be involved. While talking to Omelette (via Collider), the duo confirmed that we'll see Bebop (warthog) and Rocksteady (rhino) -- two villainous mutants from the '80s animated series -- in the movie. Plus, the Turtles' slightly unstable human pal Casey Jones also seems a good bet.

“We can say that Bebop and Rocksteady are in the film, and Casey Jones is a character that we love and we’re trying to fit him in as well”

They also mention that Megan Fox, Will Arnett, and the character of Shredder are set to return. Are you guys excited about the live-action debut of Bebop and Rocksteady? Who do you think should play Casey? Sound off in the usual place.

First one was okay, but nowhere near as bad as I expected. Megan Fox was terrible. Shredder was alright. The turtles themselves were fantastic. If Casey's in the sequel, count me in.

I'm out. I really wwanted to like the first movie. I tried to stay positive but then I watched it and I couldn't get into it. Just about everything in it was terrible..IMO especially their designs. Glad for everyone that enjoyed it though. I guess the inclusion of Beebop and Rocksteady will at least inspire a rental from me down the road.

I want the actor playing him to refer to people as "Law breaker!" or "Scuzz bucket!"...all while doing a bad Clint Eastwood impression.

My 5 yr old daughter loved the first movie and as a huge fan of the original cartoon and movie I thought it was good. I didn't have a problem with Megan Fox as April. Maybe because I knew she's not a good actress but she didn't really bother me at all. I'm excited for the sequel especially with the director change. Earth to echo was surprisingly good. Bebop and rocksteady could be awesome on screen and please add Casey Jones. As long as they portray him as a complete badass I'm all in.

DeathAdder, NOT being a "a racist and a possible swastika toting terrorist", I'd have zero problem with a black actor being cast as Casey as long as he suited the role. The fact that you bring this up on a thread with absolutely nothing to do with your so called "black washing" is worrying by the way.

The first movie was bearable to me, for many it was not. I have hopes that with the addition of these characters these movies will start to resemble a TMNT that we can all relate to and enjoy more. Honestly, the worst part about the first movie to me is you never so the turtles grow or evolve or learn to become ninjas or their ninja training. It was all brushed over so quickly and given the dumbest reason for becoming ninjas. Splinter had no relation to or motivation for teaching the turtles to become ninjas other than he found a book. I don't know if it would be a good idea for them to go into that or better to just ignore the first film altogether.

@Jollem To me, Megan Fox was ok in the movie but I felt like they had way too much April and not enough turtles

The early 90's showed that the turtles were fine in live action rather than CGI but 1 aspect that bothered me more than anything was the turtles being 7-8 feet tall. There is no need to be a ninja when you're larger than the Hulk plus bulletproof, literally bulletproof for those who didn't watch it. Megan Fox as April O'Neil was a miss also, they didn't even bother having her dye her hair yet her stand-in had red hair so every shot of her that didn't show her face was of a red headed woman. I'm not sure how they'll salvage the mess that was made with this last movie. Also Johnny Knoxville made a horrible Leonardo.
