Below are the movies, actors and directors that made the 2014 Golden Raspberry Awards shortlist -- an award ceremony that takes place one day before the Academy Awards, but recognizes the very worst in film. It's mainly made up of movies that have come in for the biggest critical bashings, but there are also a few surprising inclusions. Featuring prominently are two films that made a lot of money last year, but were pretty much universally panned: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Transformers: Age Of Extinction. There's also the likes of Transcendence and I, Frankenstein. Though The Interview didn't go down very well with everyone, the reviews for that were more mixed than negative, and while Darren Aronofsky's Noah (77% on Rotten Tomatoes) had its detractors, most critics had at least something good to say about it so its inclusion here is kinda inexplicable. Somewhat surprisingly, The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is nowhere to be seen. Voting for the 34th annual event ends on January 10, with the nominations presented on January 14, one day before The Academy Awards nominations.

i dont agree with turtles being anywhere near the worse, sure there were some annoying parts (young turtles) some i dont get why they did that (super funky shredder armor) and wow is your face so plastic you cant express (fox) but i thought it quite enjoyable and a good start to renewing the franchise...

transformers on the other hand was absolute dog shiiiiiiiiiiiit, iv tried watching it 4 times and its just dreadful in every way shape and form.

expendables is dire they have always been cheesy and a shot at 80s glory days, but the 3rd went all twilight teen so no thanks kill it with fire.

cant say iv brought myself to watch any of the others,

Why is Darren Aronofsky nominated for worst director? So he made 1 bad movie. That doesn't mean he is a bad director. All his other movies are still great.

I saw the Legend of Hercules. Worst pile of dog poop I've seen in a long time.
Surprised NOAH made the list, though. While I didn't think it was a good movie, it doesn't belong in the same conversation as the abomination that was I, Frankenstein. Man, what a crapfest.

When will ppl get that TMNT is meant for the new generation of kids, not 30 year old men

I think the reason a million ways to die in the West was nominated is due to hollywoods disdain for Seth McFarlane. I actually thought that movie was fun. Not great but it was funny. And definitely should not be on this list.

Glad to see Noah "AKA let's make everyone white" on here.

Also The Interview would not have gotten any of the love it's getting were it not for the threats from North Korea, let's be real. It's a shit movie that people suddenly think is worth defending because Commies hate it.

TMNT and Transformers 4 are the best movies I've seen in theaters in 2014! They were action packed, stunning to watch, had funny dialogue/comedic relief, followed a simple yet captivating storyline, we're family orientation, and entertained from the start of the movie to the end. I had a fun time when I saw those movies and they created an experience that I will never forget. Isn't that what movies what to accompplish?
MileHighRonin
MileHighRonin - 1/4/2015, 8:55 AM
@JoJo apparently never. I don't get it either. They all forgot how to be a kid and have fun. They forget what being a Hero in a Half Shell is about.

You guys want a mature Ninja Turtles film, win the lotto and make your own. The turtles are for the kids and family, sorry.

We will never get a film like the original comics, face it and move on.

Haters.

FirstAvenger
FirstAvenger - 1/4/2015, 8:58 AM
Just because TMNT was meant for kids doesn't mean it had to be so dumb. Toy Story 1-3, How to train your dragon 1-2, the incredibles, the current TMNT cartoon etc. Are good examples that children's films can be good films.

Y2H - 1/4/2015, 8:58 AM
@MileHighRonin I'm right with you, bro! Don't forget those cool action scenes with Splinter fighting Shredder, the turtles getting shocked and held captive, Ralph fighting Shredder alone to save his brothers, escaping alive and being chased by the clan, that Awesom sequence in the snow , and the final battle on the roof top. It is what superhero movies are for. They create these awesome action scenes that blow your mind away and gives you a tingle in your spine!

Ha! You know what doesnt have 1 nomination for being such a so-called "bad movie"? Amazing Spiderman 2. Clearly it wasnt so bad after all, eh? Haters gonna hate.

@Y2H People like you who just wan't all those things you described are why these movies get made in the first place. Which is most of America I guess since they keep getting made. No substance, just action.

TMNT does need to be there.

Saving Christmas is currently the worst movie on IMDb and Jesus [frick] it is bad

T4 , I don't care either way...

The Legend of Hercules deserves to take worst picture. That movie was DOG. SHIT!

Age of Extinction should sweep the rest of these categories though, what a [frick]ing train wreck.

Why Noah? It wasn't really a bad movie, it was just... odd.
Wasn't boring, like Exodus. And yeah, ASM2 should get the razzie for the worst screenplay.
but worst direction or acting? Nope. TMNT and such can only dream to have scenes as great as that one between Peter
and aunt May.

@3Traced : I learned about the value of brotherhood when I saw TMNT. There's your substance. And these movies bring your family together for a fun ride, everybody had a great time. After the movie was over we talked about our favorite part, funniest jokes, and the awesome action sequences. Movies like Godfather and Pulp Fiction don't bring that to the table. Also, Ralph's speech when he thought they were going to die was heartwarming and made me shed a tear or two.
