Love Triangle Confirmed For Iron Man 2

Robert Downey Jr has confirmed that Tony Stark will be the meat in a Pepper Potts/Black Widow sandwich in the upcoming sequel. Lucky bastard!

During a recent press junket for April 24th’s “The Soloist,” actor Robert Downey Jr. confirmed with MTV News what comics fans had long been expecting: Tony Stark will indeed have two lovely ladies vying for his attention in “Iron Man 2”.

Of course, Gwenyth Paltrow is set to return as assistant/love interest Pepper Potts, but the sequel will also see the addition of Scarlett Johansson as Russian agent Natasha Romanoff, a.k.a. Black Widow.

When asked whether he’d be 1/3 of a love triangle in the film, Downey told MTV News, “Heck yeah, Wouldn’t you?”

It's still not clear which version of Black Widow will feature in Iron Man 2. The original version was a Russian spy who, after defecting, ended up joining the Avengers. In Marvel’s Ultimate universe, however, the Black Widow nearly married Tony Stark before revealing herself as a traitor.

I think the most likely outcome is that they will mix the 2 versions up..as they are reportedly doing with 2 different characters for Mickey Rourkes as yet unnamed villain(some say Dynamo some say Whiplash).

In all seriousness, I was hoping NOT to hear this. I was all set to see Pepper and Happy spark things up. I actually had hopes at the end of the first movie where Pepper lays it into Tony that he left her stranded... Oh well, sorry Favs, no love for you! LOL

I'd rather see Pepper with Hogan, personally. And Black Widow turn out to be a traitor feeding info to Crimson Dynamo and arrested by Fury/SHIELD at the end of this one. Then when the Avengers band together to fight the Hulk they reluctantly let her join when they realize she has useful information.

And Keira Knightley is hideous btw. Here's another vote for Olga Kurylenko. Its not too late Favreau!!!!!

Give me megan goode and megan fox in this situation, and id be straight,lol, but naw, this is were the story needs to be, Tony strugling with his drinking habbit, and also caught up in who he wants to be with, being a billionare superhero is tough man.

yeah the Traitor-plot would add more drama to it, but by the end of the movie she should:

-Die by request of Scarlett´s contract and his agent.
OR:
-Turn good and keep her for the Avengers (most likely)

Shaman: everytime and i mean EVERY time i think of Keira, i automatically think of Natalie Portman..since KN was originally casted to "mirror" NP in the phantom menace ( noted how i didn´t write the name of that movie in caps? ;-])

I originally thought that the S.H.I.E.L.D. guy was Happy Hogan. He could've totally pulled off too. But who else could play Hogan? Im2 would be a great introduction point for him. So I don't see a triangle at all.

Introduction for H Hogan?? well i don´t know if i read you right Scorpiox, but JOHN FAVREAU played Happy´s role in Iron Man.. he was Tony´s driver, Pepper and others call him around the film.

I know right!...What the hell are they trying to do? Make spiderman 3 all over again...why does there always have to be some infatuation thing between heroes...just stick to the comics....the first one was good because he was player just like in the comics....now focus on how "hes a drunk and lone person"....and miss potts is there for him through the drinking problem...and how he nearly kills himself jumping off his house without his suit thinking he iron man lol....they need to build character...all theyw ant to show is SEX. If I want to watch sex, I watch porno...or DL sex tapes lol

Whatever they are plannign on doing I hope they do it right, I have my fingers crossed on this one...Strike one already for kicking howard off as war machine and adding cheadle. they redeem themselves with rourke and scarlet....but that doesnt mean anything unless the movie has a solid script :/

I just hope that this movie doesn't go too far into this. One of the good things about the first one was the fact that it didn't have one...

You know, I can't think of one comic book movie which doesn't have an anoying love plot, except for ironman, and incredible hulk. I think I can live without that extra drama; just give me more action!

I agree with you I wish they would have worked things out with Howard or got someone other than Cheadle. I seen him in "Traitor" let me tell you he's no Matt Damon he was awful he's just not a phyiscal guy. Hopefully only thing he'll do is fly Tony around and put the suit on the last 5min of the movie. If War Machine is use in the next movie find someone with more phyiscal presence. This is a comicbook movie right? Superheroes phyiscal presence tall and strong I mean look at Downey he got right for the role and he looks alot like Stark in the comics. Maybe Im wrong I just personally think Howard was great for that role or someone like him. Another thing HIDEOUS boy if she's hideous I'd like to see the women CarlLucasLukeCage dates.

IRON MAN was a good film! Hopefully, Marvel learned from The Dark Knight last year, and has written a sequel story that outdoes the original!

Crymson Dynamo and Black Widow (likely a traitor) as villians sounds cool to me!

Cheadle is an excellent Drama Actor, but whether he can make the transition to act in a comic book movie and actually pull off Rhodey/War Machine remains to be seen. I'll give him a chance.

I see Widow attracting Tony and interfering with his and Pepper's relationship, thus causing Pepper to realize he'll always be a mac-daddy pimp mutha[frick]a, and mount Happy's... happy ass. Then Widow is revealed to be a traitor, Stark is heart broken with no one to love him, causing him to withdraw into himself for blowing it with Pepper and drowning his trouble's with Johnny Walker in part 3.

I would do such disgusting, yet pleasurable things to Scarlett. I would purposely impregnate her. I'd let her give me crabs.

I think Widow will try and seduce Stark and eventually fall in love and this interferes with Pepper and his relationship.
Also I'd do disgusting, unforgivably things to get with Scarlett.
