Does WB/DC Want Charlie Hunnam As THE FLASH?

We don't actually have it to show you, but according to CHUD, the Pacific Rim actor's likeness graces some Warner Bros. concept art for an upcoming movie. The character? The Flash. The movie? Justice League! Read on for details..

CHUD.com reckon Warner Bros. might well be looking at Charlie Hunnam for the role of The Flash in their Justice League movie. The rumor comes courtesy of one of their "industry sources", who report that the Pacific Rim/Sons Of Anarchy actor has made a big impression on the studio, and is on their minds for a role in one - or more - of their big CBMs. They seem to think there's a chance he might also be on Guillermo del Toro's radar for his Justice League Dark adaptation (most likely as John Constantine), but that's not the big one: According to CHUD "Hunnam's likeness is being used for conceptual art on a particular big WB project right now. The film? Justice League. It seems that in the current pieces being drawn up, Charlie is The Flash." Now as the site point out, this doesn't necessarily mean that he's their man. It might just be a case of the artist being a fan and using Hunnam's likeness on his work! But, there is always the possibility that WB requested it that way in an attempt to sell the actor on the role. Either way, I'd say that after Pacific Rim there's a good chance we'll be seeing the actor pop up SOMEWHERE CBM related..if he's interested of course.

I've never seen one episode of Sons of Anarchy, but I do plan on seeing Pacific Rim, so I'll hold off any judgements right now, but color me stoked if WB is actually doing something to move forward on a JL movie. As much as I love Marvel and the Avengers, the Justice League is my favorite superhero team, and I cannot wait until I will actually be able to see them in live action on the silver screen.

didn't we just read that justice league is scrapped for right now until after a MOS sequel? WB, you guys need to just make the movies in the right order. A JL movie before the origins movies for each character is kinda lame. The reason Avengers works is because we have a fmiliarity and emotional attachment to each character already. No one has got a theme song, no one has a back story, no one has a home, its just chaos. WB needs to quit screwin around trying to make JL happen and actually work on the movies that are coming out before. JL wont work until you make some good movies besides batman (which you now need to reboot anyway cause you waited too long)

@SpecialKail- I would assume they would if they go with some combination of the original seven considering Green Arrow was the eighth member to join. That is if they (WB) follow any kind of comics continuity at all.

I like! I could never think of anyone for him, besides Armor Hammer, but everyone wants him for something. Hope this happens.

Imagine Cavills Superman, Bales Batman. Reynolds Lantern, and Hunnams Flash. Pretty epic so far.

I love it when casting people come up with actors that fanboys never thought of. That's why they're professionals and you guys arent. Casting a movie encompasses a lot more than just making sure an actor looks like a character in his headshots.

Why does DEC cast the wrong people for their films so often? Reynolds as Green Lantern and now its Hunnam for Flash. He should be Oliver Queen. Reynolds would have made a better Flash.

I was really hoping they'd go for Bradley Cooper, but I doubt he'd want to do a superhero movie (let alone a franchise). I don't know who Charlie Hunnam is, so I'll reserve judgement until I see him in something, but I know everyone and their mother wanted him to play Green Arrow. It's not even close to being a definite casting decision yet though, so it doesn't really matter what any of us thinks either way.

I love what Marvel has done with The Avengers, but The Justice League is my favourite superhero team, which is why I don't want to see WB rush out an inferior product. I want to see it done right, with each character treated with the same respect and care and attention that Marvel has given each of The Avengers so far. Nothing has me excited about The Justice League so far, and I'm dreading the day we hear any official news about the movie from WB, because I'm almost certain they're moving too quickly, and I'm worried that I'll hate the movie.

I thought he was awful in Green Street, which is why I was reluctant to give SOA a chance. I did, and he's also pretty bad in that imo. Then that horrible voice-over for the Pacific Rim trailer just clinched it: I don't like him as an actor. I'll give him a chance to show me what he can do in PR and beyond..but as it stands I wouldn't like to see him nab any CBM role.

"WBs is likely planning a Flash movie hartley07. Goyer has a Flash screenplay done and written. Flash is the most people DC character after Batman & Superman."

WB has had a Flash movie in the works for awhile. One of the last significant developments was a story outline supplied by Geoff Johns a la the basic input he provided on Green Lantern.

As for the Goyer script, it's irrelevant as A)It was kind of a trippy epic that dealt with the entirety of the Flash legacy and the Speed Force that went over the executives heads B), ultimately focused on Wally West as it predates Barry Allen's resurrection, C) was contingent on Goyer directing and Ryan Reynolds as Wally West (shows you how long ago that was) and D), most importantly, was rejected by WB anyway.

There is a script in some stage of development, but it won't be Goyer's old Flash script (though from all the great things I've heard about it, hopefully it will be looked at for inspiration).
