Kevin Feige Confirms DAREDEVIL Rights Are Back With Marvel

Unfortunately he offers up no new details on the studio's plans for The Man Without Fear, but Feige does confirm that after Fox failed to get a Daredevil movie into production on time, Marvel does indeed own the rights to the character.

We had assumed as much anyway after Fox failed to meet the deadline to get a new Daredevil movie going and lost out on the rights to the character, but we had never heard anything official from either studio on the matter until now. Speaking with Newsarama yesterday at the Iron Man 3 press junket, Marvel Studios president of production Kevin Feige confirmed to the site that the Daredevil rights are indeed now under the Disney/Marvel umbrella. Although that seems to be all he had to say on the matter as Newsarama report: "While Feige told us about the rights reversion, he gave no indication of what, if anything, Marvel Studios has planned for Daredevil at this point." Good news, but I think it'll be a while before we see the character on the big screen again. If anything I think a Marvel tv series is more likely. What about you guys?

They've usually announced rights coming back at SDCC, so I'm not surprised they he hadn't come out and said it before...

But anyway, suspected as much, Fox clearly had no interest in the character

Fox was too late with this. The idea for this movie came to late.
They still can go with Deadpool. That is of course they didn't already pulled the plug out of this one.

I'm pretty sure Kingpin is a part of the Daredevil film rights package, but Sony can also use the character in a Spider-Man film if they wanted to.

A tv series set in the 1970s might be interesting. And perhaps Heroes for Hire. Both set in the 1970s. They can have episode crossovers / cameos
???

@MARVELPSYCHO79: Oh, OK. That makes sense. Thanks.

And FuturePast, please stop posting Iron Man 3 spoilers where people who don't want to be spoiled can easily read them.

@FuturePast. Could all this not have waited until everyone got to see the movie? Spoilers are not cool. It's not even out yet! Did you have to spoil to make your point? You are being petty and childish.

Marvel Knights Cinematic Universe to run parallel to the main MCU but a darker tone and R rating: Daredevil, Punisher, Ghost Rider, Heroes for Hire.

Make it happen

@TheAbomination - Totally agree, man. I feel like that's the way to go for such a character like Daredevil. I've said it countless times in the past, take the street-leveled characters (Marvel Knights characters: Daredevil, Punisher, Elektra, Heroes for Hire, Ghost Rider, etc.) and have them star in their own tv series that coincides within the MCU. They can really pull this off if they decide to do so. And if they do so, then I'm for that. Expansion is key to the MCU (which Marvel Studios is doing currently). :)

Kingpin is part of the Spider-Man film rights package, Fox borrowed the rights from Sony when they made the Daredevil movie.

*Now cue people complaining that Marvel will take a long time to make DD or not serious enough despite FOX having ample opportunity to do a reboot*

Agreed. They need shows where other heroes take care of smaller, street-level threats while the big villains are taken care of in the MCU films.

You dont need Kingpin to make a good Daredevil movie, in fact you dont even need Bullseye or Elektra. Daredevil have a very rich rogue gallery you can use Mr Fear, The Owl, Black Tarantula, Gladiator, The Purple Man, Silvermane or Typhoid Mary to name a few. as for the love interest there is Karen Page.

@Nomis
i like some parts of it. Last fight with Kingpin, his X-ray, the costume was good. Affleck did a decent job. Duncan nailed it.I liked the cinematography too.

The problems.

Bullseye was too over the top, everybody was talking about a Kingpin (he supposed to be a myth), plot was kinda thin.
