I'm surprised they gave it a rather positive review. I'll pass on this one.

Sounds awesome. Now I'm curious as to what this iconic image will be

"At its current cut, it's likely a little too intense for your 4-7 year olds , as there are two scenes in particular that seem a little unsettling -- one involving offscreen cannibalism and another displayed as a silhouetted throat slitting. Will those scenes make it into the final cut? Probably, this is a PG-13 rendition of The Lone Ranger after all,"

^ this is the best sounding bit.

as for the pirates of the caribbean movies i enjoyed the first two but not the others,i don't know about this, maybe rent it on dvd.

I have no interest in seeing this. I thought a positive review might change my mind... But it didn't. I couldn't even get through a trailer...

I love Johnny Depp, but even with him in the movie, I still have almost zero interest in this film. I actually even forget about it until it's mentioned on this site........pass

If they had gotten a real Native American to play Tonto. And did portray him in such a stereotypical and racist way then maybe I would go see it, but as is, nope.

I really want this to be good. The Lone Ranger is a classic iconic character. I remember hearing both my grandfathers talk about watching it along with other small screen westerns. Hopefully that legacy stays intact.

Dang this is tough with all the great movies coming out this summer into fall, I am not sure if I should catch this or Netflix it?

Already bought my tickets.

I'm a sucker for Johnny Depp in ethnic make-up.

Really though, I am looking forward to this. The new run of Lone Ranger comics turned out pretty good so I can dream.

This movie will be very mediocre and its box office will match.

This movie has so much going for it and yet so many people, including myself, couldn't care less. This thing may very well John Carter.

Its a shame but the movie will probably be a huge hit and only add to the growing list of popular serials turned into action comedies for the mass appeal. They've given the character the Pirates of the Caribbean treatment which means its become a Johnny Depp film vehicle instead of a showcase for the main character.

Will it have the William Tell Overture? That's going to make or break whether I see this film or not.

All the negativity on this site blows my mind.....
I can't believe how many are writing it off. When I was a kid I watched reruns of the Lone Ranger. He was just as awesome as any comic book character. I guarantee that this will be one of the best movies this year next to man of steel. Quit writing sh1t off before you see it.....

Seriously, watch this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TDgeoRBQQtc

It's a fan edit of one of the trailers, with the William Tell Overture added. It's far from perfect but man, it makes the movie look instantly more watchable.

It's about time the Lone Ranger made it back to the screen. The only worry I had was Depp doing more shctick, but the review sounds good and I'm definitely up for this flick.

You've forgotten the most important thing:

Does the William Tell Overture pop up?

(Also, why do you think TWO PERIODS is punctuation? It is NOT. Stop doing it! Either use an ellipsis or a period. The other way just makes you look dumb. And I've seen enough posts of yours to know you're not.)

I still think this is going to bomb. I mean MAYBE because it has Johnny Depp the teenage girl crowd will go en masse, but if John Carter failed so hard I don't see why this will be any better.

Well, we'll see if this film can make little kids want to play Cowboys and Indians again. Something that our current culture would have a real hard time with considering a kid can get in trouble pretending his hand is a gun. Maybe they'll surprise us all and actually shoot lasers that don't really hit anyone!

Disney better hope IM3 banks all the money they claim it will because it is going to have to cover a loss for Lone Ranger. I have nothing against Lone Ranger or this movie but just think this movie is going to bust big time (like a 150 million loss bust).
