COMICS: Get A Better Look At WRATH - The "Anti-Batman"

We've seen a glimpse of him already, but in the latest 'What's New in the New 52' editor-in-chief Bob Harras gives us a much better look at Wrath -- a character described at the Anti-Batman, set to be introduced soon in the pages of Detective Comics.

Says Harras to DC:

"There’s no denying that Batman is one of the strongest superheroes in the DC Universe, and with access to state-of-the-art technology, the Dark Knight has incredibly resources at his disposal to aid in his efforts fighting crime. But what if Batman used his power for evil instead of good? Enter Wrath. He’s got all the same gadgets and vehicles as the Dark Knight – but his intentions for how they’re used couldn’t be more opposite. Mainly because they’re far more lethal..."

Wrath was retroactively written to be on the first supervillains Batman ever faced.

So basically, it's the same core concept as Mark Millar's Nemesis.

Anti-Batman? So his parents are happily alive, his relationships go exceedingly well, has a maid who knows nothing about his other life, loves to use guns to kill, has a well adjusted arch rival who is allergic to make-up and his secret lair is a small storage unit in a sunny location? I like him already.

"So basically, it's the same core concept as Mark Millar's Nemesis."

Sure. Except it predates Millar's work by 25 years, and like many other 'Millar' concepts, Nemesis was a blatant Grant Morrison rip-off

@CaptainAmerica1945 in a way, yes they are. Each of Batman's enemies, at least the best ones, are symbolic of aspects of Batman's personality and how he would function if he went down the wrong path:

The Joker represents Batman's obsessive nature and mental instability should he lose control; Hush represents an evil, selfish version of Bruce Wayne; Two Face represents the war between the lives of Bruce Wayne and Batman; Clayface represents Bruce's inability to separate himself from Batman; Bane represents Batman's skill and strength used for bad purposes; Wrath is Batman's resources used for evil; Ra's Al Ghul is Batman once he crosses the line (of killing); Scarecrow represents the fear that drives Batman; Black Mask represents a corrupt version of Bruce's business career; finally, The Riddler is the antithesis of Batman's detective skills.

I still think DC should have taken Bruce Wayne into a shadow style of what Marvel has with Tony Stark and putting his wealth, intelligence and desire to fight crime and defend himself from many enemies, some powerful, and developed a bat armor/s as an option to a tougher advesary. And Batman the ability to fly!...Shoot! He'd be as powerful as Ironman.
His armor could look somn like "Wrath?"
That still could totally work, Superman buster suit, all kinds of suits.

YAAAAYYYYY! Another movie industry inspired "realistic" para-military battle suit. I've had ENOUGH of this anti-imagination protective wear. I swear to God, if the Fantastic Four come out in "battle amor-tech" (in the movie OR comic, I'm quitting the whole thing. No more money from me!
Honestly, I at least hope that when he IS in the movie (how could DC/Warner resist), he is at lest able to turn his head.

Wrath is a cool character. Yes, that outfit its horrible, but he was always a great enemy for Batman.

Please before you write an ignorant comment try to read some comic book about him.

"Nemesis" "Iron Man" "Anti-Batman"..... really? You are not funny at all, and you only reveal your own ignorance.
