UPDATE: Disregard the quotes below, as they are actually 9 months old! Digital Spy posted them as new (for some bizarre reason) and we didn't recognize them.
Okay so you've clicked on, all SPOILERS are fair game. You might remember a while back when we brought you some exclusive info from the set of Marc Webb's Amazing Spider-Man sequel. One pretty major tidbit was that -- just as she does in the comics -- Gwen Stacy (Emma Stone) would indeed be kicking the bucket in the movie. It's not something that came as too much of a surprise to most fans who knew about the character's fate at the hands of The Green Goblin (and inadvertently Spider-Man), but many were curious as to whether something so shocking would ever make its way on to the big screen. Well, Emma Stone pretty much confirms to SFX (via Digital Spy) that that is exactly what we will be seeing when the film hits theaters.
"Essentially the argument is that Spider-Man kills her by accident, so the person she loves is the person who kills her, which is the most horrifying thing. Apparently people unsubscribed to the comic book when that happened because they were just so flipped-out over it. But, of course, I want to stay true to that."
That sounds pretty cut and dry to me. But will it be Norman Osborn/Green Goblin (Chris Cooper) doing the deed, or will Webb and co. be changing things up a bit?
