New TRANSFORMERS: AGE OF EXTINCTION Production Still

Director Michael Bay has posted another official BTS image from the upcoming fourth installment in his Transformers franchise, featuring himself (naturally) shooting what looks to be a messy action sequence. No giant robots are visible unfortunately..

Transformers: Age Of Extinction will feature the Dinobots, but aside from that plot details are under wraps for now. The movie stars Mark Wahlberg, Jack Reynor, Nicola Peltz, Stanley Tucci, Kelsey Grammer, Sophia Myles, Li Bingbing, T.J. Miller, Han Geng and Titus Welliver and hits theaters June 27, 2014.

Seriously though, people give Michael Bay too much hate. You go to his films looking to have a good time. It's one quote from him that I feel bad about-

"I make movies for teenage boys. Oh, dear, what a crime."-Bay

Like seriously, people know exactly what they are getting into when they go watch his films. Nothing Oscar potential, just a fun film. Lay off the hate.

and here I thought all explosions are CGI'd, it's good that Bay still uses the traditional explosions on his films.

I agree. People say his movies suck but they are there opening week-end to see them. Just wait until Age of Extinction comes out, people will like this trying to get into the theatre opening night/week-end..

If you are going to see Machete Kills or saw the first one and you are excited about both of them then dont ever open your mouth up to say a single word against Michael Bay.

Unlike the people who diss him, Bay at least is aware of what Transformers is and that's why the movies make so much money. The films are no-brainers, simple fun with some Oscar winners and nominees turning up to deliver their most hammed up performances and still the fanboys don't get it.

The average Transformers fan who grew up watching the cartoon or reading the original Marvel comics back in the day still has Marketing Syndrome from the 80's. They're still under the illusion that the cartoons were something amazingly well written other than being cool for kids to watch (FOR THE 1980's). They have no ability to step outside themselves and see the silliness and absurdity that was actually a huge part of manufacturing those stories to sell toys to young boys. The problem is that they also are incapable of past-tense, they think any thing made now somehow magically disrupts time in the past hence the "raping my childhood" crap which is the running joke of all normal people when they laugh about geeks.

The real kids of today love Transformers even with the crass humor attached because its what its always been, dumb fun. That's the state of times, something the grown up fanboy still clutching to his childhood security blanket will never be able to grasp. They think they have some imaginary claim on what these movies should be, they seriously do! These films are not made for them, they had their childhood, learn to archive the memory and MOVE THE [frick] ON! Nobody can steal your memories, nobody can rape your childhood, the entire series of Transformers from the 80's is available on home video for crissake.

But like all spoiled children who want the world to revolve around them, these guys would rather be assholes about it and moan, bitch and vent their hate. Worse still the internet allows them to gather like a million wankers jerking off into the same jug. These guys need to learn to simply not pay any attention to things they don't like, it will knock years of stress off their features and save them months of internet time they should be diverting towards something more positive and enriching.

Pacific Rim proved you can have big boombastic action with a story and characters that make you at least care about what happens to them.

Machete Kills completely sells itself as what it is, a silly over the top live action cartoon complete with caricatures and pop culture references.

Transformers is not either of these things. It tries to tell a semi-serious story but falls flat due to stupid characters and unlikable leads. The action itself is very well shot, but honestly, it's all pointless since you can't bring yourself to care for any of them. They're well shot movies, yes, well edited too, but that's really all you can say about them.
