AMAZON Officially Dead At The CW

We had heard that the Wonder Woman prequel series was merely "on pause", and that as soon as some script issues were ironed out things would move forward - but today CW president Mark Pedowitz put the final nail in Amazon's coffin in an interview with THR.

The CW's planned Wonder Woman prequel show Amazon is once and for all, officially, no more. The series went from being in active development to being temporally shelved to being back on again, but now the decision has been made to scrap it completely. "We did not go forward with it," Mark Pedowitz tells The Hollywood Reporter during the Television Critics Association's winter press tour - thought the CW president does say that when, or more importantly if, the right material comes along there is potential for Diana of Themyscira to once again give the small screen a go. "It all depends on the script. We were very careful with Arrow and we're being very careful with Flash. These are iconic characters so we're going to be very careful with Wonder Woman. You only get one shot before you get bit." I suppose you can't blame them for being cautious; after all look at how Wondie's last tv venture turned out! But fans of the character can at least look forward to Zack Snyder's big screen take next year..right?

... The way he's making this sound is as if the Arrowverse and DC Movie-verse is separate...

Yeah, I'd rather see Wonder Woman in the MoS sequel and then her own film.

Sweet. There's way too many DC shows in the works, CW has 4, and 1 from NBC, 1 from FOX.

The variety is good but quality should always be the focus.

And I'm so glad this show didn't happen!

Did it matter? It probably wasn't going to share the DC universe anyway...

I forgot about this. Don't mind Wonder Woman but, dislike Gal Gadot as her. Ben Affleck and Chris Terrio on the project give me hope and interest but, I don't think Snyder can get a good actress or believable performance out of her.

Just let Snyder handle the Amazons.
Give them the Sucker Punch treatment and have them all killed in gruesome ways, but then it's all a dream or something. Whatever, it'll have cool fight scenes, f- you.

That is great news, I am pretty confident now that WW is going to get a solo or team up movie.

I don't think it's great news at all. Anytime they decide not to do a comic-based show it's bad news.

This could have been VERY good, if done properly. As far as I'm concerned, this is yet ANOTHER fail by WB.

Good news for WW. Bad news for Flash. Either Flash ain't getting a solo movie or they're going with Wally. It was Wally in Goyer's original script, so maybe that's the case.
Fvcking good news for WW, though. Between this and the Adam West DVD news I have breathed two huge sighs of relief today. Both have been sooooo long-time comin'. Now, the only thing that's gonna be a long time coming is me.

It seems like they're going for the DCAU team, instead of the classic team or the New 52 team. So maybe this is the line-up we will see on the big screen:
Batman,
Superman,
Wonder Woman,
Wally West/ The Flash,
John Stewart/ Green Lantern,
Hawgirl,
Martian Manhunter.
