AMAZON Officially Dead At The CW

We had heard that the Wonder Woman prequel series was merely "on pause", and that as soon as some script issues were ironed out things would move forward - but today CW president Mark Pedowitz put the final nail in Amazon's coffin in an interview with THR.

The CW's planned Wonder Woman prequel show Amazon is once and for all, officially, no more. The series went from being in active development to being temporally shelved to being back on again, but now the decision has been made to scrap it completely. "We did not go forward with it," Mark Pedowitz tells The Hollywood Reporter during the Television Critics Association's winter press tour - thought the CW president does say that when, or more importantly if, the right material comes along there is potential for Diana of Themyscira to once again give the small screen a go. "It all depends on the script. We were very careful with Arrow and we're being very careful with Flash. These are iconic characters so we're going to be very careful with Wonder Woman. You only get one shot before you get bit." I suppose you can't blame them for being cautious; after all look at how Wondie's last tv venture turned out! But fans of the character can at least look forward to Zack Snyder's big screen take next year..right?
