First Look At Robin Lord Taylor As 'Oswald Cobblepot' On GOTHAM Set

"Everyone knows the name Commissioner Gordon. He is one of the crime world’s greatest foes, a man whose reputation is synonymous with law and order. But what is known of Gordon’s story and his rise from rookie detective to Police Commissioner? What did it take to navigate the multiple layers of corruption that secretly ruled Gotham City, the spawning ground of the world’s most iconic villains? And what circumstances created them – the larger-than-life personas who would become Catwoman, The Penguin, The Riddler, Two-Face and The Joker?
GOTHAM is an origin story of the great DC Comics super villains and vigilantes, revealing an entirely new chapter that has never been told. From executive producer/writer Bruno Heller (“The Mentalist,” “Rome”), GOTHAM follows one cop’s rise through a dangerously corrupt city teetering on the edge of evil and chronicles the birth of one of the most popular super heroes of our time."

He's playing a young Penguin! Give him a few years and he will pudgy with a receding hairline just like you remember him. I'm totally down with this!

He'll do. I hope this show turns out well. I'm having a hard time shaking my skepticism for DC live action projects lately.

He's for a creepy suave demeanor to him. I like it. Remember, he's not the portly penguin yet. He has to grow into that. He may have some of the characteristics now but he'll acquire others as he te adorns. Like physically for example. I like why I've seen so far from the show. I like the contemporary look of it.

@MrReese

I think it might be something like "Hero Cops Slay Wayne Killers" or something to that effect. The last word is the only one I'm really shaky on.

Not as stout as I usually associate with Penguin, but looks like he might be suave enough. But he's a big more of a middleman in this isn't he?

I just get sooOOoOOoOooo bored with anything/everything to do with
the mentality of a "prequel/origin" story.
Whether it's on tv or film.
99% of the time the writers and producers of the shows or movies are trying to just desperatly "fill in the holes" with plot points/details.
(Either Star Wars, Battlestar Galactica's Caprica, Smallville.....
any of them)
Snore :-/

You guys must be studio plants. That looks NOTHING like the penguin! He's too tall, too young, too thin, and since when does the penguin wear sunglasses. I mean come on they didn't even bother to give him a proper tux!
GhostDog
GhostDog - 3/17/2014, 5:56 PM
As long as he captures the essence, attitude and demeanor of Penguin, who cares if he doesn't look like him that much. Performance and portrayal are everything. Mckenzie proves is acting chops on O.C. I trust him as well
