In Empire's spoiler heavy Winter Soldier podcast, directors Joe and Anthony Russo chat to the team about the various plot points and easter eggs in the movie. Everything from the decision to take down S.H.I.E.L.D. always being a part of the script, to the Steven Strange name drop, to Joss Whedon directing the Quicksilver/Scarlet Witch mid credits scene is discussed, but the really interesting stuff comes in when they're quizzed about Cap 3. The brothers reveal that there have been a lot of discussions with writers Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely, and that they have a general idea on the direction that Captain America 3 will go in. Anyone who's seen The Winter Soldier probably won't be too surprised by this, but it sounds pretty clear that the threequel will focus on Bucky. "The most that we can say about it at this point, is that Bucky's story is not finished. It's an introduction to Bucky's story. So if you want to guess at what that movie wil be about..you can assume this will be a continuation of that story"

There is much, much more to the podcast so be sure to listen to the full thing if you can. Captain America: The Winter Soldier is in theaters now, and you can check out my five star review of the movie HERE.

Does anyone else think it's funny that the dude who plays Bucky(that could be the future Cap) was the soda can bomb guy from Hot Tub Time Machine? If Sebastian Stan is Captain America, that would be hilarious.

Captain America: The Winter Soldier was excellent so I cant wait to see what they gonna do with the third one.

For me Captain America 2 is the best Marvel movie so far, I absolutely loved everything about this movie. I would put in second as my all time favorite superhero movie, tied with Batman Begins and only below The Dark Knight.

I think we definitely need Falcon and Cap story for the third. Sharon Carter should replace Black Widow.

If the Winter Soldier and Captain America go at it again in the third film I hope that the fight is more personal. Like after the big battle of whatever they are simply fighting, both tired ad fatigued, and it's less badass martial art/military style fighting and takedowns and instead more brutal, fatigued and simple punches and attacks.

I also think the Winter Soldier looks even cooler in this film than in the comics. Plus the cybernetic arm was absolutely perfect. I actually felt like that made him much more dangerous.

I wonder what TWS means for The Avengers. It's cool when you think about it because now, in order to stop Ultron, they'll have to come together on their own terms, and out of responsibility, rather than an order.

@Pasto funny shot. Warch the youtube parody of racist Cap awaken from the ice. It's hilarious. It's assumed that Cap would be racist but I think becuase he was poor and scrawny and picked on early of his life that he despises racism becuase he knows what it feels like to be persecuted for your appearance. He truly hated the atrocities compotes by te Nazis on human rings and he values human life. And he's from the north, Broomyln NY so he was used to black people. And he served with one in his battalion.

Also, we have the continuation of Cross Bones' story. We could possibly see his transformation into some sort of costume for the 3rd movie. I'd love to see a "real world" representation of this without too much of a Luchador, Bane, or Army of Two influence...Something like these, but with a more practical mask

I still say WB will move Superman vs Batman's date...especially now that they see the big box-office #s TWS did. Remember WB moved the Man of Steel original date of Dec 2012 to July 2013, and did while the movie was still in production. WB has too much riding on the Superman sequel, like introducing a new Batman and a introcuding Wonder-Woman for the first time. WB will balk and move the date...just watch.

And I still don't understand how people love TDK so much, without the Joker that movie is boring as hell. That movie has 2 parts, the parts with the Joker in them and the other parts where you're waiting for the Joker to come back. And for all the complainers of source material, Nolan's batman is a terrible interpretation on him, he was even the greatest detective in Gotham, let alone the world.
