Jeff Wadlow Has Apparently Signed On To Direct MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE

According to The Schmoes' Phantom scooper, Jeff Wadlow has signed on to direct Sony's planned reboot of Masters Of The Universe. That's signed, sealed, delivered -- they reckon it's only a matter of time before this one hits the trades. Wadlow had been lined up by Fox to direct their X-Force movie, but obviously that doesn't look good if he's chosen to bring He-Man, Fisto, Ram-Man, and the rest of the slightly pornographically monikered heroes to the big screen. Previous versions of scripts have veered away from the original cartoon quite a bit, but we have no idea what type of story Terry Rossio (Pirates of the Caribbean, The Lone Ranger) is currently working on. What do you think of this? Would you have preferred if Wadlow had stuck with X-Force? Is a Masters Of The Universe movie even a good idea in your opinion?

Look, Fox has clearly been reluctant to schedule more than one X-Film per year, and we've already got ones set for 2016 and 2017.

So unless they greenlit X-Force immediately and rushed to put it out next year, I don't how we could have gotten one before 2018.

Wadlow's easily got a few years to kill before he can get to it.

Damnit dodge a bullet with Chu leaving just to get hit by a train. It's like they are determined to make a mediocre He-Man movie.

X-Force is an upcoming 2016 American-Canadian superhero film with no release date announced as of yet. Jeff Wadlow director of Kick-Ass 2 has stated:

"‘X-Men’ is about mutants, and not all the mutants get into the mansion. So I’m curious to tell a story about the mutants who don’t make it into the mansion....Look, I’m a huge Deadpool fan, who doesn’t love Wolverine – but obviously Cable is an iconic character we haven’t seen onscreen yet. I love Psylocke, Domino is an amazing character – it’s a long list of characters that have appeared in ‘X-Force’ – Colossus is in the current lineup… There’s a lot of really exciting characters that you can use in ‘X-Force’ that have been in other movies, that haven’t shown up, or maybe there’s ways to re-imagine them, even though they might’ve shown up in other films."

Nooooooooo!!! This guy is terrible. Kick Ass 2 was shit. His other directing efforts are shit too! Don't want him doing x force. Get Vaughn to do it or someone else.

Wadlow did Never Back Down, great movie.

He also wrote the script for X-Force, so even if he doesn't direct, he'll be connected.

A MOTU movie could be very awesome and fun, but this director is questionable. I hope this news is false and they hire a better director.
GhostDog
GhostDog - 4/9/2014, 7:43 PM
Duncan Jones, who is doing Warcraft, Alex Proyas or Neil Jordan should direct MOTU
