Toby Kebbell Confirms That He'll Play 'Doctor Doom' In FANTASTIC FOUR

We had heard that the Wrath Of The Titans actor was looking likely to nab the role of the villain in Josh Trank's Fantastic Four reboot, and now Kebbell has taken to Twitter to confirm that he will indeed be suiting up with the rest of the young cast.

Variety reported that Toby Kebbell (Dead Man's Shoes, Dawn Of The Planet Of The Apes, Warcraft) was Fox's top choice to play Victor von Doom in Josh Trank's Fantastic Four reboot, and now the man himself has confirmed that he's accepted.

Kebbell's obviously left Michael B. Jordan's name off the list there, but we'll assume he merely forgot and the Fruitvale Station star is still playing Johnny Storm in the movie! Anyway, the principal cast have come together finally and shooting is set to commence next month. So what do you think of the new big screen incarnation of Marvel's first family?

I want to ask the people who seriously have faith in this, and think it will be awesome, one question:

Is it worth it?

Had this project not had "Fox" printed on it, this would be one of my most anticipated films of 2015; don't know what sh*t you guys are on, this cast is perfect.

No no, if Fox knew what they were doing no one would be worried. But since Fox now stands for 'Dumbass' in this day and age, people are worried.

I really like this cast, and I think this movie will be great. If someone wants to attack me for my opinion then go for it!

If Fox didn't [frick] up with The Fantastic Four TWICE, I'd have faith in this. But no, we got a cloud instead of Galactus. Fox needs to at least give out 3 solid films in a row for me to actually consider anything they make 'good'.

@Pasto

Is it worth it?

It depends on what you mean by that. I'm waiting to see how DOFP is before I have any sort of judgement on this project (production-wise).

For example, if DOFP is great and erases the continuity errors from the past films and becomes a whole new universe, bringing the young cast permanently (by some sort of device) then yes, I will be really hyped for this.

However, if the film turns out to be bad, then I would consider it dead weight to whatever is to become of the Fantastic Four, however great the story and vision may be.

he is very good from what little i have seen of him,im still indifferent towards this film, not because its fox or anything, i have never been a big fantastic four guy though i respect them as being Marvels first Family etc. but i have always Loved Dr Doom and i hated their version of Doom(i disliked the movies aswell) in the previous two films, he was uninteresting, not menacing and not fun at all, plus even the actor seem bored doing it,hopefully they do this version better,i will wait for a trailer to change my mind, i have never seen chronicle but i do want to,i have ehard its great,i thik the cast is great imo, the direction is more Ultimate Fantastic Four then classic and im fine with that.

and tweets aren't exactly the frontline of casting information, actors will say anything to sound even slightly affirmative when the internet pushes them into a coveted role. career-journalists should really consider sifting through the facts and look at how much the filmmakers have dissuaded any notions that these casting reports are accurate. Trank compared it to Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor, studios don't just let this info leak so easily that random film reporters can corroborate each others casting stories. Justin Kroll chose his favorite Doctor Doom from Jeff Sneider's fake casting shortlist (the director called Variety's casting shortlist a non-factual wish lists) all I'm saying is THINK before throwing around words like "CONFIRMED" and "LOCKED-IN" when Trank said he won't reveal the cast until Comic Con (July 24) and pretty much declared that any internet-born casting rumors until then are probably bunk. I'm not tryin to be a dick, I'm just paying close attention.

in the clip i just posted,i think we have our Reed Richards if they go more classic in David Tennant, tennant himself is abig geek, he has staed many times he gre up being a marvel comics fan and he has said he thinks he play only two characters, Reed Richards and Dr Strange and i think he will be fantastic(pun intended) as both

Guys...I know you're not going to believe this if you're already against the idea but...he's one of the most talented actors in the field right now.

He may not work as often as some, but when he does he's amazing.
The guy is incredible and I have no doubt he'd be an amazing Doctor Doom.

He was mind blowing in 'Dead Man's Shoes'.

This is the first Marvel movie that I %100 want to crash and burn. What Fox is doing to the FF is an abomination. At least with the X-Men movies I don't give a [frick] how bad they are cause I don't give two shits about mutants.

The Fantastic Four are the worlds greatest comic magazine! They deserve so much better!
