V/H/S Director David Bruckner Set To Helm FRIDAY THE 13TH Reboot
Marcus Nispel already rebooted Friday the 13th in 2009, but because that didn't make enough coin to merit a sequel (and was also rubbish incidentally) Paramount are giving it another go - this time with the man behind arguably the best segment in the V/H/S anthology in line to direct.
Like Jason Vorhees rising from the grave to dispatch another group of attractive morons, the Friday the 13th franchise just won't stay down. After Conan The Barbarian director Marcus Nispel brought us a lackluster reboot back in 2009, Paramount and Platinum Dunes are looking to David Bruckner (writer and director of the excellent “Amateur Night” segment of V/H/S) to breath new life into the hockey mask wearing killing machine. There were rumors that this new take would go the found footage route, and Bruckner's hiring would certainly lend credence to that..although The Wrap don't confirm it. Paramount will release the reboot on Friday, March 13, 2015. What do you guys think of this? They have a very good director on board at least..could this actually be worth making?
