V/H/S Director David Bruckner Set To Helm FRIDAY THE 13TH Reboot

Marcus Nispel already rebooted Friday the 13th in 2009, but because that didn't make enough coin to merit a sequel (and was also rubbish incidentally) Paramount are giving it another go - this time with the man behind arguably the best segment in the V/H/S anthology in line to direct.

Like Jason Vorhees rising from the grave to dispatch another group of attractive morons, the Friday the 13th franchise just won't stay down. After Conan The Barbarian director Marcus Nispel brought us a lackluster reboot back in 2009, Paramount and Platinum Dunes are looking to David Bruckner (writer and director of the excellent “Amateur Night” segment of V/H/S) to breath new life into the hockey mask wearing killing machine. There were rumors that this new take would go the found footage route, and Bruckner's hiring would certainly lend credence to that..although The Wrap don't confirm it. Paramount will release the reboot on Friday, March 13, 2015. What do you guys think of this? They have a very good director on board at least..could this actually be worth making?

Hmmm, not too bad. I think the found footage approach could work for a film like this. I actually liked Bay's film too ((I think it was directed by him)

Two favorite V/H/S scenes...

(Viewers Beware, You're in for a Scare)

And how could we forget "Safe Haven"??

At least it's not a sequel to that godawful 2009 reboot. I'll give this movie a shot. Hopefully they do something special with it since it's the 13th film in the franchise (and they already did 3D for the 3rd film).

If you do it do it right. No grounding in reality bullshit. I want a god damn indestructible zombie. No found footage. Use creative kills, Jason doesn't just use a knife. He yanks you out the tent while you're still in your sleeping bag, and slams againsta tree. He shoves poles through the out house while you smoke a joint.

What was awful about the remake???

It was just like any other Friday the 13th movie

I've always loved Jason. he's always been my favorite slasher. I don;t like the idea of the found footage thing though. it's overdone and doesn't fit with the rest of the series. I did like the idea of having Jason out in the snow.

How about...No! If they do reboot this better be good.

I want to see a Gremlins or Critters reboot.

There's one film that gave me the creeps when I was a kid. Anyone ever seen The Gate?

Yeah if they try to do the found footage thing that would really suck

Halloween resurrection did something similar and that turned into a big joke

Rememebr they're also doing another Nightmare on Elm Street remake. So it should be pretty promising.
