Apparently Fox Has No Plans For An X-MEN/FANTASTIC FOUR Crossover After All

Despite rumors to the contrary, and even though they do share the same cinematic universe, it seems 20th Century Fox do not have any plans to produce a movie featuring characters from their X-Men and Fantastic Four franchises.

When it was announced that 20th Century Fox planned to establish their own cinematic universe with their stable of Marvel characters, it was generally assumed that this would mean that we'd see a crossover flick at some point. Then, when the studio announced some CBMs they had in the pipeline (another Wolverine movie and a Fantastic Four sequel etc), the "mystery project" only added to the speculation. Well, although it might happen someday of course, The Schmoes report that Fox have no current plans for any type of "X-Men VS. Fantastic Four" type movie.

"According to a well placed source of ours close to the production of FF, Fox has NO PLANS to cross the universes together. That’s right, we can finally put the rumors to rest. It ain’t happening. At least… not yet. According to our source, Fox REALLY wants FANTASTIC FOUR to stand on its own without having to bring in some X-Men to help the movie along. Our source confirms there’s not even a whisper of this happening because, as mentioned, Fox wants FF to do well enough to warrant another sequel and then another and so on and so forth."

Hmmm. Isn't it a bit pointless to have a shared cinematic universe if you're not planning crossovers? Obviously it's something we could see further down the line, but if this report is accurate and they haven't even seriously discussed it yet? What do you guys think?

Thank you lord. Don't want the FF crossing over with the X-men ever.

Well then what's the point FOX?! WHAT IS THE POINT?!?!?! Obviously they don't give a flying [frick] about competing with Marvel.

But I do see what they're saying. I just think that having both franchises is a great opportunity to make something bigger. It doesn't have to be until after F4 2, but it should still happen eventually.

Oh well

Couldn't really see how that would work anyways since the direction xmen movies are going from 60s, 70s, and 80s.

And FF seems to be in the present time

And Fox wonders why none of their CBMs have crossed the half billion mark.

I thought the "mystery movie" was going to be X-Force. Isn't that what Jeff Wadlow is writing/directing?

What I think they should do, is introduce Doom in this F4 reboot, then build on his character a little bit more in the sequel, then have him go full on DOOM for an X-Men/F4 crossover.

If they want a Fantastic Four movie to succeed, the need to abort this abomination, sell the rights back to Marvel, and let them do it right.

A bit suspicious though, considering they're releasing Apocalypse, then an FF sequel and after those two is the mystery film.

Thats good news. At least for now they need F4 to be its own franchise. I could see a cross over in the future. Franklin Richards is a mutant.

i imagine that they want to make sure FF does really well first

if they are smart, and REALLY want to do a crossover eventually, they'll wait to see if FF 2 is a success and if it is, maybe do a crossover.

Just getting to like the X-Universe so don't want it tainted with this abomination of an FF movie crossing over! :p

GOOOOD!
It'd just be too much.

I like the X Men as a stand alone because mutants is a societal "issue" that brings it's own problems, and introducing people who got their powers from space would take away the fact that they're "special".
Same goes for the F4.

Keep them separate. I don't see the hype with waning everything to crossover.

Good, I never wanted to really believe it anyway. I want Fantastic Four to have FF adventures with FF characters. At most; when Galactus is trying to eat earth and FF is up in atmosphere trying to stop him, the X-Men will be shown in very short cameo role at earth trying to do damage control.

No hero should have a crossover movie with the X-Men.

In a world where mutants live and have powers, what do 4 guys mean ? Wouldn't they be considered mutants also ?

That's what I don't like in the comic books. The X-Men are too big of a thing to be included with other superhero because anybody can have any power in a world filled with mutants

Ror, maybe put up a story about Avi Arad confirming that they have no intentions of crossing over Spider-Man with any other franchise...ever? Pretty interesting stuff. Just saw it on Badass Digest:

Because Fox will not make a new FF anyways

The only thing that would warrant a cross over would be if they all fought Galactus other than that keep them apart.
I mean how often do they even team up in the comics?

Made no sense in the first place. X-Men already has their own universe established and then to squeeze in FF would be awkward.

Good, Xmen and the fantastic four wouldn't really mix for a crossover, xmen has to many characters anyway, it wouldn't feel any different anyway, since they would probably still make wolverine suck up all the spotlight and put the FF in supporting roles. Way to go Fox
