Who is HAWKEYE?
HAWKEYE is Clint Barton, He is a former circus worker and criminal turned hero, who received his archery skills as a young boy through extensive training with professionals. HAWKEYE is only one of his monikers, he has also used the name Goliath, he transforms into a giant using the "Pym" particles. He has gone also with the code name Ronin, where he showed his skills in martials arts and his efficiency with a sword.

What are his powers and abilities?
Note: Due to the nature of comicbooks being an on-going tale, the character's powers along with his appearance, is in a constant state of flux.

He has no superpowers when he is in his HAWKEYE or Ronin Persona.

As Goliath:
Size Alteration: Using the Pym Particles, created by Hank Pym, he can grow to immense size (and also to shrink to tiny proportions).

Abilities
Master Archer: Barton has trained himself to become a master archer specializing in the use of regular bows, longbows, compound bows, and crossbows with near-perfect accuracy. He is capable of firing multiple arrows at a single target in a few seconds, hitting multiple targets in a few quick strokes, and directly hit small targets in the greatest of distances.

Expert Marksman: He possesses very keen eyesight, and his accuracy is virtually unerring; he was trained in the use of throwing blades, balls, bolas, and boomerangs. He now has near-perfect precision with any aimed or thrown weapon. He can hurl objects with extreme speed and accuracy, both in direct aim and complicated rebounds/interactions.

Expert Acrobat: Barton possesses exceptional human strength, endurance, and stamina. He is athletic, with very good reflexes and agility. This, combined with training as an aerialist and acrobat, makes him capable of complex acrobatic maneuvers.

Expert Fighter: Barton is an excellent martial artist, having been trained in various forms.

Skilled Tactician: As shown in his leadership of the West Coast Avengers and the Thunderbolts, Barton is a highly competent strategist, tactician, and field commander.

Weapons Proficiency: Although as HAWKEYE he was not known to use the martial arts style weapons he now uses in his Ronin identity, Barton's incredible reflexes and hand-eye coordination allow him to easily master most weapons. Barton is able to properly handle and throw Captain America's shield.

What are the changes he underwent?
1. First Appearance
First time we meet HAWKEYE he was mistook for a thief, but quickly proven himself a hero, and became an important member of the Avengers. His initial costume is still pretty much the basis of his more contemporary look, with some minor adjustments here and there.

2. Goliath
In a story that involved a battle that broke HAWKEYE's bow, Barton took some size-changing Pym particles and became the new Goliath. His Goliath costume has some elements similar to his HAWKEYE costume, but emphasized more his musculature, and could be throwback design from his circus days. The costume started with a purple theme but later on there were some color changes.

3. Return to HAWKEYE
After his stint as Goliath he went back in being HAWKEYE the archer, unfortunately when he first returned to using the name, he forgot to bring along his classic costume and we get this.

4. Armor
A story about street crime, finds HAWKEYE got shot several times, after he recovered he began to wear an armored costume designed by Tony Stark with goggles to protect his eyes.

5. Crossing
The 90s came, and in the "Crossing" storyline we have a "cool" (which is the 90s mantra) HAWKEYE.

6. Heroes Reborn
After spending sometime in a "Counter-Earth" Heroes of the Marvel Universe returned to their actual reality, with HAWKEYE forgetting his color scheme. (HAWKEYE, Wolverine called he wants his brown and tan costume back).

7. House of M
In this event where the Scarlet Witch alters reality HAWKEYE is wearing a familiar, but slightly modified costume. (I'm not familiar with this story… sorry guys… but is it really suppose to be an M in his forehead rather than an H?)

8. HAWKEYE America
For a brief moment after the Marvel Civil War, and the apparent death of Captain America. Tony Stark offered Clint the mantle of Captain America

9. Ronin
Clint temporarily adopted the costume and name of Ronin. He relied more on his fighting prowess while donning this costume, using katanas and nunchuk, but old love never dies and we see him with a bow and an arrow.

10. Heroic Age
Recently, on Marvel's Heroic Age we see HAWKEYE back in his classic duds. (Well you know what they say you can never beat the classics).

HAWKEYE in Live Media
HAWKEYE's first live interpretation will be portrayed by actor Jeremy Renner. We will see him have a cameo in the Thor movie, then as a part of an ensemble cast in the AVENGERS.

We have reports that he will not be wearing the purple costume from the comic books. But, it would be a black sleeveless costume with a little bit of maroon. There is the HAWKEYE symbol on the chest and he carries modern professional bow. Probably similar to one of his Ultimate costumes.

Hey Pollmaster, I was wondering if you can do an "Ask A Geek" on HAWKEYE. I know that he has other alias' like Ronin, but thats about it. Id like to know more about this Avenger since he's gonna be on the big screen soon. Thanks.

Aaron
Could you do a history of HAWKEYE costume since there seems to be a lot of debate on it about the movie. If you haven't done it already.

Deadpool13
Can you do 1 of HAWKEYE please...btw you know your super heros keep up the good work

House of M is simple. Wanda has a mental breakdown, and when that happens reality itself is restructured and Magneto is the ruler of the earth, with quicksilver polaris and Wanda as his royal family, with Wanda's two young sons billy and tommy.

It's interesting to note that Hawkeye had actually died before then, and when Wanda recreated the earth in her father's image, he was "reborn".

After the world was set right, he came back to this earth, but everyone thought him to be dead, so he took the guise of ronin from echo, with her permission of course.

Clint also believes that Kate Bishop of the young avengers didnt deserve the name hawkeye, and yelled at her for it during his very very short stint as Cap. Kate challenged him back yelling and saying the REAL captain gave her the name in honor of his fallen friend.

clint was so overcome by her emotions, that he returned the shield to tony and said he'd mail the flag later

All I can say is thank god they're going with Ult Hawkeye. I'm sure Jeremy Renner will bring that extra snarkiness to the role anyway, looking forward to see how he'll play off RDJ's Tony Stark! Should be good.

Ever wonder what if DC and Marvel didn't pussy out and decided to do the actual costumes from the comics and not listen to the whole "It won't translate well on film" argument?

I say this because I don't like the idea of Ultimate Hawkeye's costume being in the film because... well, it's lazy. I know some people are fans for it but it doesn't really seem like a costume. Now if they went with the green arrow route like in smallville but change it up a little so he has that awesome mask then I would be fine.

He wore the brown Heroes Reborn costume while on the alternate earth, not when he returned. Otherwise, good job.
