Who is HUMAN TORCH?
The HUMAN TORCH is Johnny Storm), a Marvel Comics superhero. Created by writer Stan Lee and artist Jack Kirby, he is a member of the superhero team the Fantastic Four, debuting in The Fantastic Four #1 (Nov. 1961). Like the rest of the Fantastic Four, the HUMAN TORCH gained his powers on a spacecraft bombarded by cosmic rays. He can engulf his entire body in flames, is able to fly, can absorb fire harmlessly into his own body, and can control any nearby fire by sheer force of will. "Flame on!", which the Torch customarily shouts when activating his full-body flame effect, has become his catchphrase. The youngest of the group, he is brash and impetuous in comparison to his beautiful and compassionate sister, Susan Storm, his sensible brother-in-law, Mister Fantastic, and the grumbling Thing.
First Appearance

When the HUMAN TORCH first appeared he looks like a big ball of fire but by third issue of Fantastic Four and onwards, he began to develop his features became clearer.

Here is HUMAN TORCH explaining to readers how he could fly. (Fantastic Four #9)

Johnny Storm is not the first HUMAN TORCH that honor goes to Jim Hammond an Android during World War II that has similar abilities with that of Johnny Storm. Johnny chose the name as a tribute to this war hero.
Original HUMAN TORCH

In Fantastic Four Annual #4 Johnny Storm meets the Original HUMAN TORCH

One of the fascinating team-up or at times match-up of HUMAN TORCH is his X-men opposite number, the Iceman. Their first meeting happened in Strange Tales #120

One of HUMAN TORCH closest friend, aside from the members of the Fantastic Four, is the Amazing Spider-man. The two heroes first met in Amazing Spider-man #1. Despite their early misunderstandings, the Torch and Spider-Man eventually became good friends and friendly competitors, with Spider-Man revealing to Storm his secret identity
Here is a funny look at the relationship of these two characters (Amazing Spiderman #657)

HUMAN TORCH's Costume
HUMAN TORCH mainly wears what the current regular uniform of the Fantastic Four is, with his fire-based power he still looks visually unique.

The only time HUMAN TORCH veered from the traditional Fantastic 4 costume is when he changed his costume's color scheme from blue to red, he calls this outfit his "Combat Red" uniform.

The Hothead HUMAN TORCH has wooed fair share of women in his life. Here is a few of the superpowered ones.
Crystal whom the HUMAN TORCH met in Fantastic Four #45

The similarly powered Frankie Raye

Skrull impostor Lyja

Like his sister, he also found some affection in one of the Atlanteans, Namorita

There is much more of course, HUMAN TORCH is so hot he gets to bag many women.

However, HUMAN TORCH's has more love than the one he has for the ladies, and that is his love of adventuring with his family, the Fantastic Four.

That is why in his death, his sacrifice, his family will sorely miss him.

For now as he rest, his family wish to honor him by continuing the fight, he will never truly be replace on the team but one of his good friends is just keeping his position warm.

CBM FIGHT CLUB CHALLENGE

Message to the CBM community: To those who are making requests, check first [here] because I might have done an article on the character already. If I have not please be patient, I will get on it as soon as possible (but consider the fact that I spend hours writing one of these articles). Try to limit your request to characters that already have been adapted to live media, so that the feature will at least be relevant to the site – Comic Book Movie(though I include TV characters). Characters in Manga or Anime’, I am not particularly familiar of, I am not discounting these characters but it will probably take some time before I write a feature on them because I have to read up on these characters. Thank you for reading these articles! If there are errors on the feature article above, blame it on my age, humanity and ignorance. Just be sure to check the comment section for the corrections, any error I made will surely be pointed out and corrected by much bigger geeks (because there will always be a bigger geek out there). -This has been PollMaster inviting you to the geekside. MABUHAY CBM and Godspeed!

Also if you've only ever read him as a cocky tool you've only ever seen poor writers handle him. Or at least read him poorly written

Bobby, true I was never a big fan of the FF..in fact I [frick]ing hate them to put it bluntly. But that isn't to say I didn't give them a chance. I read quite a few comics featuring em, now maybe I was just unlucky on my choices but no matter the writer, I just never found myself getting involved in the team's/Family's dynamics at all. Torch was always just "that guy" in any stories I read, characters like him are a dime a dozen in fiction. But, like I said, maybe I haven't read the right comics.

@pollmaster great article i'm loving all of these but you forgot one other appearance and have been overlooking it for a few Marvel characters. Spider-Man and his Amazing Friends the old cartoon from the 70's i think is when it was on.

Is that how Johnny dies? He flames up and just stands there without fighting? Why didn't he go supernova on their asses?
plasticman

Wasn't he in an episode of the 90's X-Men series and I think he made an appearance on Spiderman and Friends? I could be mistaken.

What is wrong with the Human Torch you negative nancies? Good job, pollmaster. I know you are simply working your way through the characters and will eventually hit them all, DC included.

Why are so many people down on Johnny here? I for one, like the character. Evans did a fantastic job (no pun intended).
