Dark Knight Sequel Viral?

Dark Knight Sequel Viral?

Is this fanmade or an official poster made for fans?

By happenstance I found myself again with a supposed teaser poster for the Dark Knight Sequel.

This time I might have an idea where it came from. I received an email, containing this message:

I received a similar email a month ago, I thought it was just a SPAM because there was no message when I opened it, that’s why I deleted it. This time I accidentally clicked my mouse and highlighted that message.

The message was off, because it was not my birthday, but I think “he” got that idea from the info with my email provider (Hey! Don’t look at me like that, it’s not like you always put down the correct info when you fill up this forms.)

Okay, so on with the teaser. Which is what you came for right? Here is a screencap of my computer with the poster as its wallpaper.

Here is what it looks like as a poster (I think). I moved the desktop icons then crop the screencap.

I am still not convinced with this image. So, again take this with a grain of salt. I feel that this is a prank, and I got all you guys as suspects :) , either you or Johnny Depp.

I don't think prep has started for the next movie at all. It's some cool fan art though, but fan art none the less.

Access, you need to stop opening SPAM messages otherwise your computer is bound to get some nasty viruses, or your identity stolen.

This shouts "Fan Made" I wouldn't even say it's a good fake, for Christ's sake the question mark font is called "Jokerman" which is widely used and available. If they used one symbol (the question mark) I think they would probably design or pick a more unique font then something that comes standard on most computers.

Also, it's got some of the same images as the last one. I think what's happening is you unlocked some future hell for your computer, after the last virus, you're getting SPAM and opening it.

Long story short, I call bull shit on this being real.

Just send me 100 dollars and your ssn and credit card details and it can all be yours! Oh yeah and Prince Desmond Okotiebor Etete has a great offer for you guys too.

Well personally i'm betting against the sanity, I know I could certainly use the cash and my good friend the prince really does need help in Nigeria.

@access no probs I over thought it at first too, thinking it an anagram or something.

I'd be interested to know where this came from, but the grammar and way its worded seems to point to a fan created thing, it's interesting though.

The image it self seems to be something akin to the joker site where you had to move different items around to see a picture behind them.

thwhtGuardian - 10/6/2009, 6:47 PM
yeah, that's why I know it's fan made, they wouldn't do the same thing twice. I like it though, it's certainly interesting to look at.

meh, I doubt it man. I mean it'd be cool and all, but one can't take a clue from fanart. So we can't really say either way if he will or won't be at this point. It's evident that the fan who created this image would like to see the joker again though.

hi guys just reading this post while trolling around getting info on batman 3.

to me that might be a clue of some sort.... i mean at the end of the second sentence when it says " will i see you when the world ends"
quite possibly indicating that indeed johnny depp is linked to the riddler as he stared in " at worlds end "
just a thought what do u guys think ? :p im prolly looking at it a bit too close tho but u never know :p

I'll say it again, it's too in your face and too obvious for it to even be considered real. The movie isn't even written yet, let alone have a cast, it's all bull shit.

The Jokerman was used because one, most all computers have this font, and it's called Jokerman. So some kid put this together attempting to be clever. That's all this really is. It's very amateur and far from anything remotely professional. Nice fan made but that's it.

@ Stumblin, you are quite cynical, why don't you try making your own, if it is sooo amateurish?
Stumblin
Stumblin - 11/3/2009, 5:43 PM
I am critical not cynical, because this is obvious not a professionally made graphic. I'm in the graphic design business and I call it like I see it and I'm being honest.

And no I am not going to make a fan made teaser, too much time and effort to make a good design for something I'm not getting paid for. I have enough freelance and actual work to do, otherwise I'd love to.

Don't get me wrong it's a cool concept, but it is what it is. Fake.

I'm sure we'll know when real viral batman 3 stuff comes up, but I agree with guardian. There is no way they would use the same type of thing for 2 movies in a row.

There's also the fact that Chris Nolan is busy with Inception and I don't know if you've ever made a film but even a student film takes up every waking second. He most likely doesn't even know which villains to use yet.

That being said though, I do like the nod to killer crock with the "alligators in the sewers" article.
