Iron Man 2 Most Anticipated CBM of 2010

Iron Man 2 Most Anticipated CBM of 2010

MTV poll results confirm Iron Man 2 is the most awaited CBM property (like we ever doubted it)!

MTV made a poll of what CBM the fans are most looking forward to and surprise... surprise who is leading the pack. Getting more than half of the votes is Tony Stark himself - IRON MAN! Way far from his heels is Kick-ass.

Here's the poll from MTV.

POLL RESULTS
Iron Man 2: 53%
Kick-Ass: 11%
Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World: 11%
Jonah Hex: 8%
Dead Of Night (via write-in votes): 7%
The Losers: 4%
The Green Hornet: 3%
Priest: 1%
Red: 1%
Other: 1%

With no real threats from DC except maybe Jonah Hex it seems like next year belongs to the Golden Avenger

DC has so many great books, why can't they get their sh-t together. Batman and Watchmen can't be all they have. What about a Huntress, Zatanna, Powergirl, Wonder Woman or some other character that would make Russ Meyer blush?

I'm REAL excited about most of these. Not surprised Jonah doesn't have more hype. That may be because the hype machine hasn't even been unleashed yet. I love some Jonah, but I have to admit he's not even a B-list character. He's not even on the alpha list, he's on the alpha-numeric list, he's probably an A-2.

I've never heard of this "Other" movie. I wonder what that is.

Next year is sort of a quiet year when it comes to normal superhero movies (2011 is going to be the most epic year ever with Cap, Thor, GL and Spidey 4) but Iron Man 2 is the movie I'm most looking forward to out of CBM's or nay other film! And the best part is we get it on April 30th in the UK! :P

yeah, that's kind of a no brainer...most people on MTV probably don't even know what those other comics are.

The problem with Jonah Hex is without any sci-fi or fantasy elements involved, it's just a regular western movie.I can't really see anyone but die-hard fans getting excited for it.I like Jonah Hex, but at the end of the day, I can't see it making half of what Iron Man will.I bet Iron Man makes more than Jonah Hex, The Losers and Kick Ass(the R-rating will mean less box office)combined.

hahaha...betty...

i can't believe you've never heard of "other." it's written by the same guys who wrote "et cetera" and "miscellaneous." i'm currently halfway through reading "not otherwise specified." it's pretty awesome, albeit a bit extraneous at times...

"What I want to watch from Marvel/DC are their mainstream superheroes...."

Yeah, I kinda agree with that.As much as I like the Losers and Jonah Hex, I wasn't really clamoring for movie versions. It was one thing when WB weren't doing anything with their properties, but when they finally do, this is what we get?A western about a scarred guy and an action movie about CIA agents? What about Superman, Wonder Woman and Flash?Hell, I would take Adam Strange or Warlord, for God's sakes. It seems to me that besides Green Lantern, they decided to make two mainstream properties into films.Other than the fact that they are adapted from comic books, they just seem like regular movies. No superpowers, super science or magic.Just a western and an action film.

I don't really anticipated comic book movies any more, not after spiderman 3 and x man the last stand. I just don't care any more.

@Kenny and Access: DC really needs to get it together. Marvel movies have been mopping the floor with DC movies since Iron Man. I don't understand how DC just can't get it together in the movies. They've got a million great mainstream characters that they're just sitting on while they test the waters with one-shot's like Watchmen and V for Vendeta--both are great movies, but I'd trade them for a Batman vs. Superman in a heartbeat. All we ever hear about DC is they've got setbacks like GL opening a year late and how Nolan may not return for a third movie. AHHHHHHH!!! Hopefully DC Entertainment will finally start getting their act together.

It breaks my heart to see Wonder Woman, Flash, Superman and other A-list mainstream DC just sitting on the sidelines.

I'm very happy to see that Marvel's setting the bar high.

@Brazilian Batman: Agreed!

i second that kenny, ironman will crush every movie on that list.

DC doesn't need to churn out movies like Marvel does. I'd rather they bring out movies that have great quality than have a crapload of movies that are so so. I'll agree that Ironman is badass, and I've like all of Marvel's movies, minus Hulk, but Ghost Rider, Daredevil, FF 1&2 were okay, but forgettable. I'd rather see both Marvel and DC spending money on making all of their movies as good a TDK and Ironman. Here's hoping all the future movies that come out from the big two are not crap!!

josh@ 30th april epic win in my book!!!

thwht@ i do want to see the big movies like im2, captain america, thor, green latern etc and while the lil not so know movies without superpowers come out, they might not pull in big money but who's to argue if they turn out to be good films??

but like everyone's said its all about ironman next year :)

jazz@ i forgot Constantine was dc to man.

Phinehas - 12/7/2009, 9:58 PM
Tobuttica, well see that all now depends on how well WB suits can yield the reigns to their newly formed department called DC Entertainment. Me? I'm a little skeptical. Marvel, when they opened their studio was able to call the shots. That may change with Disney. So let's see. Lets see if WB doesn't micro-manage DC Entertainment. Lets see if Disney doesn't micro-manage Marvel Comics/Studios. Things have dramatically changed for the better (perhaps) for DC, and for the...well...unknown for Marvel's paradigm.

ya i agree with flames dc has gotta get flash out and make it good and really the only marvel movies that are purely marvel calling the shots on are ironman and the incredible hulk so far....dd, ff1&2, etc. are made by fox and other studios i just want them both to build great movie universes where all there characters know and interact with eachother like in the comics and to also do a marvel vs. dc movie in the far away future which would be badass
