According to EW..Prison Break fave Sarah Wayne Callies has just scored the female lead in AMC’s eagerly anticipated The Walking Dead series, based on Robert Kirkman’s megapopular comic books!

Nice. I only watched the first 2 and a half seasons of Prison Break but Callies was a highlight for me. Lori Grimes is the wife of the hero, Frank. Here is some of her back story..

..Unfortunately during an incident involving Rick attempting to capture a convict, he was shot in the chest that resulted in hospitalising him as he fell into a coma. As the walking dead begin to rise in the town of Cynthiana, Rick still laid comatose at the local hospital. Lori makes a decision for the safety of her young son, Carl, and she leaves him at the hospital praying that he will be alright.

Accompanied by her husband's partner, Officer Shane, they make their way towards Atlanta to stay with her parents and in the hope they can find some sort of safety from the ever increasing hordes of undead. Emotionally upset over leaving Rick, she confides in Shane. Receiving comfort for the first time in months she succumbs to having passionate sex with Shane during their journey to Atlanta, to which immediately she deeply regrets.

Arriving in Atlanta, they find that the city is completely overrun by the undead. Joining with other survivors, Shane, Lori and Carl make camp just on the outskirts of the city. In the following weeks they survive little attacks and work hard to ensure they do not attract the attention of larger undead groups. Still upset that she had left Rick behind, her grief would be lifted after one of the survivor's return from a scavaging trip into the city not only brough back extra supplies, but her husband also!

I have only read a few issues of The Walking Dead but its pretty damn good so I'm really looking forward to this show.

Maddizzled = turd bucket king

she's a great actress And I hope the show is great.

Cdb@ the synopsis shows she's a compassionate grieving wife. Are you saying that's not true? And does Shane die right after having sex with her?

Awesome, she was great in Prison Break and brilliant in the most recent episode of House! :)

ROR: You should try to finish off watching Prison Break - the third season is a little hit and miss but the fourth makes for one hell of a finale!

shaned dies after having sex with her, but not like, RIGHT after. there's a bunch of drama that goes with it.

i say she's a bitch because she's constantly whining and giving Rick a hard time.

@cdb well a lot of people give rick a hard time. she's not the only character. In fact it supposed to be that way. I mean a pregnant woman would not be the happiest person in a zombie infested world.

"I want the TV show to switch it up from the books to be honest"-Kevin

I don't know about that, this tends to get a lot of TV shows and movies in trouble when the deviate from the source material. I think the safe bet would be to stick to the comic. otherwise we're gonna get all kinds of crazy nonsensical crap. Stick to the story and just concentrate on doing the book justice. that's what i believe should be the way to pull this TV show off.
