New Hulk TV Show In The Works, Cloak And Dagger Also Being Developed

Big news from Marvel's TV department. Not only is a new Hulk TV show in development, but the relatively obscure team of Cloak And Dagger, too. AND, we have a full list of characters that are on Marvel's radar...

After the hugely popular original 70s-80s tv show starring Bill Bixby, Marvel and ABC are brining the not so jolly green giant back to the small screen.

Hulk is one of two projects that are priorities at Marvel Television. Marvel Studio’s TV division which has been operating under the radar since Jeph Loeb took the reins at the end of June. The second hot property is Cloak and Dagger which is being developed as a possible show for ABC Family.

Apparently both shows are in the very early stages of development, Hulk being the front-runner, with Loeb currently meeting with writers to get ideas together for Cloak And Dagger. Word is that Marvel will have a full list and presentation of their planned shows around May. For the moment, here are the characters tickling their fancy..

• Heroes for Hire (focusing on ex-con Luke Cage offering to take on bad guys for a price)
• The Eternals (a race of super-powered beings live amid humanity in secret, inspiring legends)
• Agents of Atlas, Alter Ego (private investigator Jessica Jones takes on cases involving superhumans)
• Moon Knight, the Red Hood (a low-rent criminal discovers a cloak that gives him superpowers)
• Ka-Zar (a Tarzan-type and his saber-toothed tiger must journey to the concrete jungle to seek justice)
• Daughters of the Dragon (a dynamic female duo, one with a bionic arm and the other a granddaughter of a samurai, open a private-detective agency)
• The Punisher (one man wages a war on crime; already adapted as three feature films).

Apparently Punisher is also a definite, but as a cable play, and not for a long while after the two above projects. It's unknown if the shows will link with the movies, or even with each other. Since Marvel have gone to great lengths to establish a shared movie universe, it's a fair bet they might try something similar here.

I'm against a Hulk tv show like I'm against a Wonder Women Tv show, because they should only develop obscure characters like Cloak and Dagger and the popular ones should be on the big screen

what does this mean to The Incredible Hulk 2
that Mark Ruffalo announced a couple of weeks ago
and the one Kevin Feige said was happening after The Avengers.

So we're getting Another actor to play Bruce Banner. ..Awesome. I doubt Mark Ruffalo will play him it'll give him a lot less time for movies.

LEEE is gonna shit it if they make a punisher tv series, but it must have Jane back. As for me I would love to see a new mutants show.

Not thrilled about the Hulk show. I guess we'll have to see how it all plays out...IF it plays out.

Cloak & Dagger could be really cool if done right, same with Moonknight.

The Punisher...Don't expect Jane to come back as he is already wrapped up in his show on Showtime. I pray to the comic book gods that they don't have Ray Stevenson come back. *shudders*

Marvel could have something good here with the TV shows, assuming that they are given the backing they deserve and don't end up being some "90210" garbage.

Hulk show could be cool. But C'MON MARVEL! THE PUNISHER TV SERIES!!!!

They might have him planned for movies, though. But I guess that doesn't seem to be a problem for Hulk, so who knows.

I didn't check out Moon Knight until I canvassed the Civil War trade paperbacks. That is one messed up story, but so worth telling...on cable. I vote Showtime.

Punisher, Punisher, Punisher. It'll fail a fourth time in theaters, it's soooooo damn perfect for TV.

Will the Marvel TV Universe cross over with the Marvel Movie Universe?

Or will the Marvel TV Universe be its own thing?

Either way, I'm there, dude.

The Eternals is like Greys anatomy with super powers. It'll work great as a TV series and get both male and female demographics

I don't want them to do Hulk, I think thats a step back for Hulk. He's finally back on track...why derail it with a tv show that won't have the budget to do the Hulk justice? But as far as other characters like Cloak and Dagger? AWESOME IDEA. There are alot of characters that are less epic than the A Listers but have long storylines that aren't gievn justice in a 2 Hour Movie. Punisher is better as a tv show, Heroes For Hire without a doubt, Ms. Marvel could be a big sell on tv to female audiences....they could do Blade possibly...(bahahaha...jk..had to slip that in there)

MoonKnight and The Hood are nothing alike. This leads me to believe that either a.) these two characters were never actually in the running for a television show or b.) the people in charge have only the slightest inkling of the characters they chose to develop.

If I were asked to produce a show with one or both of these characters I might go with...

Siiiick!

Apparently they did hear us when they asked for suggestions on what they should develop as TV project. The list is a bit similar to what we all suggested.

Too bad Daredevil isn't there. Copyright thingie?
