I'm liking this a lot! It's much more faithful to the original depiction from the comics than the Stallone effort, for one. Although I'm not sure about the undersized shoulder pads/eagle. The shot was posted on Twitter by artist Jock who is working on the film as concept artist and is(or will be!) evidently the first official image from the shoot. The new film, simply titled Dredd is currently in production under director Pete Travis.

Body suit, don't look as good as STALLONE'S, he it'll be a better movie tho I hope LOL!

When I mean not as good more the GOLD... its darky type of gold.

Uh, are we all looking at the same pic? Doesn't seem that bad to me. The pic is dark and gritty, and you can't really see much anyway. Body suit doesn't look as good as Stallone's? Really? You can't see anything.

Well the helmet should be smaller because it doesn't fit his head lol. But now that I think of it I have read Dredd comics where the helmet looked too big on him. Other then that it looks cool!

I'm all for the dark and gritty style...but really the stallone costume wasnt that bad (except for the stupid cod piece!!!)
The new Helmet looks way to big...I'll pass further judgement (excuse the pun!!) when I see more...this could just be a test shot...

I actually think that looks pretty damned cool! The helmet seems a little big for his head, but that might just be the angle that the photo was taken from.

Well either the helmet is fricking huge or Urban´s head is fricking small!:/

Stallone´s helmet was better and cooler! Just give Urban that helmet and make it little bit grittyer!
The armor is cool, but where´s his shoulder... things?

Still thinking that Josh Brolin, Ray Stevenson or Gerard Butler would have been better as Dredd!

The overall look of the costume is much closer to the source material from the comics. Hopefully this movie won't be the crappy "campfest" the Stallone version was. Judge Dredd is a badass character which should hopefully translate into a more visceral action movie. At the very least, Karl Urban is a giant step in the right direction.

urban's helmet design seems like a more faithful version of the comic than Stallon's. Looking forward to seeing this when it comes out!
