Entertainment Tonight will be running another piece on Kenneth Branagh's Thor this Thursday. It's not known just yet exactly how much footage will be shown or what the nature of the sneak peak will be but you can bet it will be SOMETHING we haven't seen before.

So far though all we know is that there is a "scheduled look at Thor" on the show this Thursday. More info as we have it.

Thanks to Zarina Sapphire and RealIronMan for the heads up.

New Trailer PLEASE!!!!! also....another GL Trailer that is more serious in tone.....hurry up WB/DC quit stalling...not helping you when Marvel releases greatness like this and Cap.....and X-men

MIDAS - 2/15/2011, 5:44 AM
At the end of Iron Mam, Nick Fury asks Tony Stark if he thought he was the only super hero in the world. Which would imply that there are already super heroes that exist. Not Thor, because he hadn't crash landed yet, and not Cap, because he was still an ice cube. They could mean Hawkeye, Ms Marvel, etc. Perhaps the credits footage for Thor will give us a glimpse of who else we'll see in Avengers. Who do you think are the pre-existing heroes Nick Fury mentioned?

I am just not sure how I feel about this movie. Green Lantern looks good. Cap looks great. Just not feeling it when I see trailers for this movie.

StuckInPanels - 2/15/2011, 5:52 AM
@Midas...well technically I'm sure Fury knew about Cap in the past but didn't know his location in the ice until either the end of First Avenger or the beginning of the Avengers. Doubt Ms Marvel in the movieverse yet, since we have no word on the Kree. He might have a database with various Meta-humans in this world, but that remains to be seen. Gotta wait and see

Having a database of Meta-humans and declaring that there are other "heroes" are too completely different things. Just because someone is a Meta-human doesn't mean they've taken on the responsibility of being a hero. I believe Nick Fury has super heroes he's working with on the Avenger's initiative, and he wants Stark to join them.

I'm interested in this, but right now I'm dying for more Captain America. We've already gotten a leaked comic-con trailer, a full teaser, an ET segment, and a super bowl spot for Thor. We just have 30 seconds of Captain America and a tease of an upcoming ET segment.

I am sure Fury is aware of Bruce Banner at that point - he knows all!!!

Plus he would also be aware that Cap did exist once. And if he is aware of him he maybe aware of the existance of the Cosmic Cube and that it is from "Odin's Treasure" room. So there is some knowledge of Asgard in the Marvel Movie Universe by some before Thor shows up.

Add to that vague details about Hawkeye, Black Widow, Black Panther and Namor and it gives his words about other 'super heroes' plenty of weight.

@Orphix
I agree with you, I'm sure Fury knows way more than they let us know, but if he says there are other heroes, I get the impression that they are already heroes, not soon to be heroes, or possible heroes. Hulk and Thor weren't heroes, nor were they on board with the Avenger's initiative at that point. And Cap was inside ice, so you can't count him in just yet. Fury makes it seem as if he's already working with heroes and he wants to bring Stark on board.

Here's a thought for a plot device:

There were other superheroes and at some time in the past SHIELD was bringing them together as a team. A Hydra terrorist attack resulted in thier deaths. Thus this new team of superheroes is being brought together to AVENGE those that were killed.

I agree. I am going to try hard to not watch the second Thor trailer. I'm already sold on the movie and don't want to spoil more.

Fury's statement may not have been targeted towards anyone specific. They probably had him say this as a general blanket confirmation so that when and if they decide to bring others in, Marvel will be covered when they introduce somebody with a origin date before Iron Man and the fans say "Well where the hell was he when all this was going on?"

I'm not a helmet issue person but I have to say that the fact that Thor will not fly or spin the hammer has dampened my enthusiasm for film a bit.

Probably, but I hope they don't give it all away before the movie comes out. I remember what they did with Iron Man 2. By the time the movie came out I felt like I had already seen it.

Thor on Thursday
DID YOU KNOW: Thursday is actually Thor's day. It's literal translation is THOR'S DAY meaning; The Day Of Thor.
From this day fourth I shall pronounce Thursday as Thorsday.
Unless this film turns out to be terrible, in which case i'll switch back to Thursday

@ DAHAMMA

I've heard from someone on the SuperHeroHype forums that Branagh said in an interview that he asked and got permission from Marvel to make Thor not fly so as to keep it more realistic.

Sigh!
DaenerysTargaryen
DaenerysTargaryen - 2/15/2011, 10:06 AM
ehh knowing ET they'll only spend less than 5 minutes about the Thor movie *half of which will probably be spent with the interviewer trying to find a way to relate Thor to the latest celebrity gossip because it seems they can't talk about ANYTHING but celebrity gossip/stuff that doesn't matter* then spend the rest of the show talking about Lindsey Lohan's jail crap and what Charlie sheen is up to now.
*yes I can't stand ET 99% of the time*
If it is footage *it would be awesome if its like a movie clip* then consider me suprised.

@coldblood

DC characters have flown and will fly always like Supes and GL then what is this crappy "realism" issue with marvel.
Marvel heroes as presented by the movies are too weak to be called heroes. One wonders only Superman is enough to take down all the avengers starting with Iron Man,a gun wielding Cap,a puny hulk that struggles to lift a car and a non flying Thor(more like Big Daddy cool with a hammer).why are the marvel characters so weakly represented in movies compared to DC counterparts. We all see GL flying into space,Superman lifting a whole island in Superman returns while on the other hand the avengers are no better than a group of 4 healthy dudes.

odinson11 - 2/15/2011, 11:04 AM
@ coldblood dude wtf are you taliking about? How many times do you have to be told that thor will fly in the movie? And did you not see that hammer strike in the trailer where in the world do you get weak from that? Hulk was tossing around tanks like baseballs and you call that weak? Smh most dc fans are beyond delusional and totally ignorant when it comes to marvel characters. If you dont know just shut ur mouth
Rango
Rango - 2/15/2011, 11:07 AM
FYI:the tank tossing was in Ang Lee's hulk not the 2008 one where the hulk didn't even leap and regenerate.

and I would love to see Thor flying, atleast somebody in the marvel world should stand a chance against Superman.

just put Avengers vs JLA...Avengers won't stand 10 minutes.
odinson11
odinson11 - 2/15/2011, 11:21 AM
@rango I disagree the only advantage the jla have is superman, the rest that team would go down pretty easy, if superman fights thor then who do they have to take on the hulk? Wonder woman wouldnt last long against him that's for sure, then you would have superPJs trying to take on thor and the hulk and the green turd(lantern ) is no threat iron man can handle him. I dont see anyway the jla can win

@ odinson11

Why are there always people like you who always spoil things on forums. Nobody is insulting anybody or using offensive language. With or without your permission I will not shut my mouth and I will keep on speaking. You have absolutely no authority here.

And trust me I am a MARVEL fan with little to no interest in DC.

I was simply relating what I read and I did state where I read it.

How do you know that Thor will fly? What is your evidence? If he does then fanatstic!!! If he doesn't well then at least we are prepared to be a bit disappointed.

In 3 trailers/teasers we have seen NO EVIDENCE of flying! So from long ago I was settled to the fact that Thor will not fly. Then I heard that the script related that he would fly and I got some hope. However noone knows if everything in that script is in the movie. We don't even know if it was the final script. Many things change from script to filming to postprod. This is why I warned people against reading the script; you are setting yourselves up to be disappointed when everything you read and envisioned is not on film.

Then recently I read this over at SuperHeroHype and the guy reporting this sounded genuine.

Lets keep our fingers crossed and hope we get to see Thor fly but if it doesn't happen then at least we are prepared

@coldblood I didn't mean to address you that was ment for tango so my bad on that. Im mobile and its hard to see some of the text. As for me ruining the forum ....dude get a grip its not that serious
Coldblood6
Coldblood6 - 2/15/2011, 11:35 AM
@ Rango

Dude I feel your pain.

I really wanted to see Thor fly using that hammer, especially after we saw in Superman Returns how good flying can look with modern VFX!

I don't know if it a budgetary reason that flying VFX and scenes are really expensive.

Sometimes even good directors can lapse in some areas, e.g., Favreau is great but sometimes his action sequences are too short. I like Branagh but I read that he said they could not get the Mjolnir hammer spin to work on film. I cannot understand how with CGI that you cannot get that to work! I don't think they realise how much fans are looking forward to some signature things about these characters.

Fair enough; apology accepted. This is my outlet for conversing with my fellow MARVEL fans and I like to keep things friendly and have good intelligent discussions.

I've read Captain America will begin with the excavation pulling Captain America from the ice, then flash back through his story, ending in the present.
