Two New Green Lantern Stills (Now Hi Res)

We now have those two stills from Empire in hi res. They're still not terribly exciting, but there you go!..

Hal Jordan(Ryan Reynolds) and Carol Ferris(Blake Lively) chat at a bar. Probably talking about getting their cloths off and flying planes.

Frodo..I mean Hal hesitantly slips the ring on. Notice the power battery on his table in the background.

Better than my snaps from the ol trusty camera anyway I'm sure you will agree.

Thanks to Zarina Romanoff for the heads up.

The movie stars Ryan Reynolds (Hal Jordan), Blake Lively (Carol Ferris), Peter Sarsgaard (Dr. Hector Hammond), Mark Strong (Sinestro), Tim Robbins (Senator Hammond), Temuera Morrison (Abin Sur).

Green Lantern hits June 17th 2011.

well DC is hopefully getting the message that we dont like promo art and we want actual movie pics. But I swear to god if they just give us more promo pics after this or just keep reusing the old pics then I'm gunna be pissed. I can't wait till they start showing us the CGI scenes rather than these "easy pics" *aka pics that dont require much CGI*

but I do like it that the pics are "serious pics". So thats a minor +

Well, in fairness these pics weren't officially released to promote the movie they turned up in a magazine and were probably issued around the same time as the first set of pics for the movie came out. They are very similar anyway.

But yeah, some new character posters or something would be nice.

@BlackWidow....don't get your hopes up there sweets. The problem we are seeing with DC/WB is that they can't promote a hero that isn't batman. I talked with another person(outside from the site) about this, the lack of promotion, considering this character is relatively unknown to the main stream essentially decides if this makes or breaks the film. The fans may love or hate some of the decisions the studio has made but as long they can make it close to the source material then I'm good, even if they are going the Iron Man route....You have better odds of meeting Chris Hemsworth, Chris Evans, and Ryan Reynolds walking down the street than seeing CGI movie pics.lol....couldn't resist ;)

I was a defender of this film, and to a degree, I still am... however, they are making it very hard to defend....

The movie is just over 4 months away and we've seen ONE trailer. This the first time I've seen the toys and video games on the film than the actual damn film itself.

But again, DCs short sightedness and willful ignorance is why Marvel will become a billion dollar organization and DC will be a comic book company. Good luck with that.

@FanBoyBlack - "But again, DCs short sightedness and willful ignorance is why Marvel will become a billion dollar organization and DC will be a comic book company. Good luck with that." - Thats gotta be the dumbest comment this far on this article.
*Update - I stand corrected by Fuel's idiotic comment.

The only thing that I'm worried about for this movie is Ryan Reynold's acting. If he can do a decent job, then I'm sold. Granted, I think I'm more excited about Thor and Cap and I complain about GL's costume, but those things are minor in all honesty. If the movie is good, I am willing to overlook any potential flaws.

EDIT: I don't have a problem with Ryan Reynold's acting, I just want him to be a little bit more serious than he is usually is. When I think of Ryan Reynolds, I think of him in Waiting. Granted, he is just playing roles and I'm sure that he knows how to do dramatic acting.

Most of you wouldn't last 2 seconds waiting for news during the 80s

@yeoldeemoney you know RR was pretty good in 'Definetly, Maybe" never thought he could act, until I saw it...

I agree yeoldemoney-make a movie that entertains me, doesn't make regret dropping dough for a night out and I'm happy. Of course I admit to never having read GL comics so veering from source material probably won't upset me like it would diehard GLers.

@ FanBoyBlack

Im hoping for the best for this film and I have been wondering the samething. Why is wb not marketing this movie? Then I thought about it what if this movie is just terrible. What if they are just trying to figure out how to fix this film. It makes no sense that we have been hearing and seeing stuff from movies that comes out next year like Batman, Superman, Spider-man and Avengers for that matter and not this film. I mean cap started filming late and showed us a 30 sec trailer...yeah thats right a 30 second trailer that looked better than a whole 2 min trailer to gl. It makes no sense. Then what really scares me about the film is that people that are involved with making the film have not being boasting about the movie at all, like for instance the visual effects dude did not sound to trilled and the whole blake lively's agent doing damage control about this terrible movie she is in. Its crazy man. Even hollywood notice how awesome the movie trailer(or clip) for cap looked because they are offering evan's roles. This is a big film for dc an important film of a character that no one outside of comics no that releases in a few months, and you mean to tell me they still have no trailer. Oh but they can show the animated trailer, toys and games. In the words of the persian from 300 "this is madness!" lol

Yes I am serious Kes. One of the Marvel movies coming out just had its trailer a few weeks ago. Another one, has yet to put up a trailer. The only thing recent was a picture of the Red Skull without the CGI on his mask.

@Garth That'sw how it is, marvel fanboys will ahte on anything DC. Wish people could dig comics and stop making brand wars. IMHO Cap's trailer was not that good, CGI was iffy, and Thor has the potential to be the new Daredevil/Catwoman... But, I hope not.

i have come to the conlusion that my original hypothesis about Warners & MARVEK being drug dealers (metaphorically of course) is true..for those that missed it..lol basically MARVEL is giving all these hits for a minimal fee while the dealer on the other block knows it's product is better but just wont give out lil grams here and there you need to buy atleast a brick, so they will just give alil sample every blue moon while the fiend gets hooked up on the other corners supply, so much so it doesnt give them the high they once had..which then makes them turn to the dealer that hasnt given away alot of the product, and the lil bit they did every blue moon was great cuz the high was different, and once they let you buy that brick....well you know lo

I think they need to show a big ass construct so people who really don't know anything about the character understand that his powers are awesome.
