Daredevil rumor day continues! This time it's Tron Legacy's Garret Hedlund that is said to be eyeing up the role of Matt Murdock in David Slade's movie..

Yes, this is getting a bit silly. Particularly because it's pretty unlikely that Slade and Fox have begun to think about casting since there isn't even a script yet! But this rumor from our friends at Lostinthemultiplex suggest that Hedlund is interested in playing Matt Murdock..



Rumour has it that Garrett Hedlund – last seen prancing about with Olivia Wilde in ‘Tron: Legacy’ – is interested in donning the red Lycra. He turned down Captain America because he didn’t want the 9-picture deal, but maybe he thinks Daredevil is the right super for him. But is he the right actor for the part?


Note that this rumor doesn't link Hedlund to the movie in any way, only suggest that HE is interested. This current crop of rumored potential men without fear also seem a little young if Fox do indeed intend to set this film after the events of the last one and focus on the "Born Again" comic storyline. Anyway, so far we have Robert Patinson, Bradley Cooper and Hedlund. Who would you prefer?

well the rumours of actors are slowly getting better usually its the opposite, the guys was absolutely amazing in Death Sentance so I can see him pulling it off people wouldn't be against. MCH would rule but does he want the role, I guess we won't know until they offer the role to him which is unlikely since he's in his 40's apparently thats really old in Hollywoods eye's and his health problems but we can all still hope it happens. and End of the day I am pretty sure who ever they cast unless its MCH people won't be pleased

I didn't really like him in Tron:Legacy, but that wasn't so much down to his performance as it was the miserable script they landed him with. He was adequate. Nothing more. I haven't seen him in anything else though.

@Lee777: I agree gotta agree with you that A "Born Again" movie for Daredevil(which credible sources like THR say this reboot will be based on) would be IDEAL at Marvel.

It's not unlikely to have casting rumors even though the director was just hired. The producers have been working on this a while and surely have already tried to put something together. Directors do not have 100% control. It's up to producers to get writers, cast & director all together. They likely may have done art & stuff already. If they like what the director does then they may go with what he wants, especially if it's an experienced guy.

You guys keep crying for Michael C Hall but what if he isn't interested? I could go with Hedlund, but Guy Pierce is my choice. I think he was up for it the first time, but like Matt Damon didn't like the director.

These younger actors are good if they are going with The Man Without fear Arc but it Doesn't appear to be the case with the story line stated to be the inspiration.

I liked Hedlund in Tron Legacy and I think he is a good actor, however I just don't think he is suited to the role.

@JacksonVega Guy Pearce has turned down the role before plus the dude even said he has no interest in CBM's what so ever, so you might aswell forget that Viggo's 52 too old too carry a franchise. Damon turned down the first time aswell as far as I remember but he's the only one out of your "dream" 3 that MIGHT do the movie, if the script is good and he's apparently a fan so all depends on the script
