David Slade's Daredevil News May Not Be Much News At All!

Those expecting some casting or story details etc from David Slade on his in the works reboot of Daredevil may be disappointed as it appears the director might simply be going to officially confirm that he has taken on the project..

At the end of last week director David Slade tweeted that he would be bringing us some official Daredevil news this week. Well, that "news" may not be much more than we already knew.

Check out this tweet from Latino Review's El Mayimbe..

So David Slade's big Daredevil news is that either his deal is now officially closed or that Kyle Killen delivered his draft.

He sounds pretty sure about it, but obviously we will have to hear from Slade ourselves. Anyway, I really wan't expecting too much more than this at such an early stage...just a tad more on the story maybe! Anyway, even if this is all he has to reveal to us, at least it means things are officially up and running on the project.

Oh, he also says Josh Hartnett will be playing Matt Murdock;)

If 20th Century Fox has learn anything from 'X-Men: First Class' then this could be good. Does anyone know who the villain will be? Kingpin & _________ .....?

I don't have a pic for the lead role, but I just wanna see a good DD movie. I liked the director's cut of Affleck's DD, but it still needed something.

After Ghost Rider, Mark Johnson need not go near a CBM ever again.

The villain is Braille Man. If it's Fox Studios they would change Typhoid Mary to Helen Keller

if only they released the directors cut version of the movie in theaters and by now we would have an awesome dark trilogy (with Born Again storyline for its sequel)

@TheBatman938865

Ya, no kidding. The director's cut SHOULD have been released in theatres. Even the producer talking in an interview on the cut, said he was wrong about not releasing that version.

The dumbasss!

@whoa123 I think Hedlund would be a better for Green Arrow looks more like him. That being said i think Bradley Cooper should play daredevil. Looks alot more like Murdock and has the acting chops to play him.

Slade said an OFFICIAL announcement was coming but couldn't say more: that means the news will be coming down from Fox, not from Slade himself.

And from what I've seen of Fox, that means there's more to this news. They don't seem to issue press releases with just a director hiring, they issue them when there's more to report: like a production deal with the director, or a full greenlight/title/release date combo.

Oh dear. Hopefully Fox has learned from XFC that you can still try to destroy the franchise and still have a good movie. Oh dear

It's fox. Not seen X Men 1st class hope its good? i liked the first daredevil, only problem was Ben Affleck he was fat and he looked down alot like he was seeing where he was going. Micheal C Hall or Chris Pine would be good as Matt. Whoever it is must go to the gym and must go before filming Affleck was 1 Fat Bastard in the last Daredevil.

Ewan McGregor all the way! He would be great!

James Gandolfini as The Kingpin (He is big and he knows martial arts and he is mother[frick]ing great actor)

Ralph Fiennes as The Owl

As Stick they should get Terence Stamp again or maybe Bill Nighy.
RexDartEskimoSpy
RexDartEskimoSpy - 6/1/2011, 4:59 AM
Clint Eastwood as Stick? That WOULD be amazing. Of course it would never happen. (Terence Stamp was actually a pretty good Stick in the Elektra movie, even though he clearly couldn't give a crap. And that's the only good thing I'll ever say about that abomination.)

And don't even JOKE about Josh Hartnett. We don't want that kind of rumor going around.

Hey yeah, that's right - James Gandolfini's trained in krav maga for years. He's not actually all that big, though. Not Wilson Fisk big, anyway:

Michael C. Hall ftw.

I'm hoping his announcement is that he's off the project and Darron Aronofonsky is taking over. He's free now, since he's not doing "TEH WOLVAREEN!" He'd be an awesome fit to do a grim-dark Millar/Brubaker-esque big screen adaptation for Daredevil.

I don't get why people think Michael C. Hall is such a good fit. He's a great actor, but I think he's...too "happy"? Not the word I'm looking for, but hopefully you can get my gist. I loved his work on Six Feet Under and what I've watched of Dexter, but even when he deals with dark situations he has this happy tone to him and I don't think it would fit Daredevil's depressing moods. Maybe I've just not seen enough of his stuff to sell me on him.

I have no suggestions beside "NOT AFFLECK".

AlexDeLarge87 - 6/1/2011, 6:23 AM
RexDES@ Okey not Wilson Fisk big... but hey if they can make Tony Hopkins look bigger and more muscular than Chris Hemsworth as Thor. Im sure they can make Jimmy bigger too!:)
Or they could give The Kingpin more realistic feel to just keep Jimmy they way he is! Either way he would kick ass as The Kingpin. Its the performance and presence that counts.

He was [frick]ing evil in True Romance!:)

Why does everyone have a hardon for Hall to be DD? He's a shitty actor on a shitty show full of shitty actors.

Besides, he's too old. They need to get someone in their late 20's to play DD so he won't be too old if a sequel comes around.

I love how its just stuck in there "By the way Josh Hartnett is Daredevil." lol not even in the heading. Its pretty big news dont u think?

Josh Hartnett's not so bad, I wouldeve liked someone who gives off more of a dark, gritty, brooding vibe but not bad.

I hope they stick with the dark grittyness from the first one, I actually think its one of the bast CBMs out there, yes it wasent perfect but 90 percent of it was spot on IMO.

The theatrical wasent bad but the directors cut was 100 times better, u havent seen the real movie till uv seen it.

@Eviltwin- i know! *face palm* i wanted to punch him...if anything just make the sequel to that for they could not waste their time to picking new actors because the original cast was good (black Kingpin makes sense to me) lol
