When word reached us that Christopher Nolan would be bringing Bane to the screen again for his Batman threequl many wondered exactly how this pretty out there character would translate in Nolan's more real world take on things. Would he be ingesting Venom? The powerful serum from the comics which enhances his strength and bulk to epic proportions.

Then we saw our first glimpse of Tom hardy as bane, and he was sporting some type of face mask that could well be some type of breathing apparatus to get the Venom into his system. Well check out the following excerpt from a report on the actor from YoungHollywood.com..

In the upcoming film, Hardy plays one of Batman’s main adversaries, Bane, (WARNING: SPOILER ALERT!) a former child-prisoner who was experimented on with Venom, a highly addictive steroid that grants the user inhuman strength and agility.

The author of the piece clearly believes this will be the case in the movie, even marking the info with a SPOILER tag. But Does he KNOW this or is it just a guess based on what he has learned about the character from the comics? Confirm or debunk below.

Thi is just a short description of who the character is from the comics. They probably googled him.
Besides, if you look at the photo's revealed of Hardy's Bane (specifically the first official photo), you can clearly see tubes going into Bane's head. So, he probably will be pumping Venom.

GREAT! I mean if Nolan were to be realistic about it, the Venom mite be his "super soldier serum". But i doubt he would use an approach so close to Cap's. Will have to wait an see, didn't see anyone complaining about the Joker (No chemical bath or acid flower) so let's keep reservations till we see the movie.

Look at the picture at the top, magnify to 400% and look at the back of his head. There is a tube and a circular device that he will probably turn in order to administer the Venom.

This Bane certainly does not look like a man who has been addicted to steroids since childhood.

@NextHero08

Actually, I complained the most about the fact that there was no Joker Gas in the Dark Knight (though it is debatable with the whole bank scene, since that smoke coming out of the banker's mouth could be Joker Gas).

I don't care how it gets in his system. Does it make him grow out of proportion so that he isn't a wee little guy? That's all I care about. BIG not little.

This whole quote is just like if I was doing a report for a newspaper on the next Spider-Man film and I said that the Lizard is a doctor called Curt Conners who loses his right arm and then dedicates himself to creating a serum to grow it back, using reptillian DNA. He succeeds in growing his arm back, but is also transformed into a human lizard.
Now, we all know that is the origin in the comics, but we don't know that they'll do that in the film. They could change it slightly.
That's all this quote is. They do not know the plot of the film.

Some of you are just Ignorant! Bane Gets to be no Stronger then Lifting 2 tons! He Becomes only Slightly Stronger Then Cap when he takes the Venom! Why Bitch if you don't know the Source material?!?

@Ror
Yeah, sorry. They do distinguish between the comics and the movie. I dunno, maybe they are just making an assumption about his origins, but not about Bane breaking Batman's back. But they DO make that all-important distinction. Maybe they know? How could they know?!
God, I hope it's true. I'm not too happy about all these rumours that we keep hearing about him being the only survivor of a burnt down village that is trained by the League of Shadows, in preparation for him being the new vessel of Ra's Al Ghul.
Nolan's good, but he's not god.
Vengeance of Bane, all the way, y'all!

It is easy to fit Bane into this universe, the problem is that they used this character at all so closely sandwiched in between Abomination and Captain America. The general public will be sick of mysterious liquids causing everyone's superpowers. They could have done a realistic Toy Man that could have been cool, with all kinds of little gadgets making Batman's life hell, or just kept going with the League of Shadows.

Well if this is true, then its good to see Nolan finally using some source material!

Can somebody explain this to me? In the Batman comic books, did the Joker fall into acid or something, and have his skin color changed? Or was that only in the movie with Nicholson?(Idk if that's how you spell it)

The Joker's Origin has changed with the writers

why is that when any other cbm chenges something about a character its a crime against god??? but when Christopher Nolan does it,its "genius" and "brilliant"???
DukeAcureds
DukeAcureds - 7/21/2011, 11:16 AM
That was taken from Joker's origin in the comics. Except, in the comics he was a villian called Red Hood and was wearing a Red Hood at the time he fell into the acid. It wasn't at Axis Chemicals, though, it was at some chemical plant, next to a playing card company called Monarch. In the '89 Batman, Monarch is the name of the cinema near crime alley, where Bruce Wayne's parents were gunned down by the Joker.
The best interpretation of the comics origin is in a graphic novel called The Killing Joke. Buy it. Read it. It's very good. Alan Moore wrote it.

@ angus666

The Joker's origin has been changed quite a few times. The Joker himself has told many variations of his own origin, which can only lead people to believe that the Joker himself doesn't really know, or that he's become so crazy, and made up so many stories, that he can't remember which is the real deal.

The most popular, and most referred to origin is his fall into the vat of chemicals, though. That is kind of looked at as the actual origin.

I think he will be a kid that the League of Shadows took in after one of their raids. they train him and then give him Venom to make him the ultimate fighter. The league of Shadows have used drugs before because of the fear gas in Batman Begins so they should also use Venom.
