Man Of Steel : Russell Crowe Snapped On Set

Man Of Steel : Russell Crowe Snapped On Set

Not in character as Jor El, but Crowe is most definitely on set as shooting for Zack Snyder's Man Of Steel continues. The mysterious mo-cap man also makes another appearance..

The following are a fairly random bunch of set pics from today's shoot featuring our first look at Russell Crowe on set, though not as Jor El, some more army helicopter presence, Henry Cavill in his car and a mysterious costume being transported in the back of a trailer.

The pics were snapped by the intrepid photographers from the MOS Facebook page who are out daily on the Plano Illinois set. I'm not 100% sure if this is still the Smallville set but if so, it would be a bit strange that Jor El would be around? More info as we have it anyway.

Haha when it said Crowe snapped I thought it meant he lost his temper at first.

Russ-El is going to be great...

I thought "snapped on set" meant he had a Christian Bale moment. Crowe is known for being difficult on set (see South Park).

Love Russel Crowe, brilliant actor. Imagine if he brought the type of intensity he did to "Gladiator" for his role as Jor-El. Yeah I get it...that is WAY too intense but i think we've seen a calm Jor-El more than enough times already. Imagine a war on Krypton and we see Crowe's Jor-El fighting and being a total badass.

Also- I really want to know who Mo-Cap guy will be in the film. Damn...

well this is certainly shaping up to be the Superman film 2006 should have had.

I wonder if Jor El's sporting facial hair according to the pic of Crowe...

@Reverend- That would actually be a refreshing change for once. I hope they ditch the frost white hair thing with Jor-El in this film.

There's a certain version i really liked of the character...i don't see them going that route with it but still...a fanboy can dream right? ;D

@LP4

Evening, friend... missed you on the Trek board... coughed up a funny new graphic and everything...

So, what do you reckon, mate... warrior or scientist Jor-El... I can't wait to see costume concepts...

@themayer- Hahahaha love South Park. I'm a huge fan. I kept telling my friends it'd get renewed up to 2013. I kept saying it while they kept saying this would be the last season.

I loved rubbing it in their faces when the show was confirmed to be renewed for 2 more seasons!!!

;D

If ANY hero can beat Supes. It is the Coon. Mark my words. ;P

@Reverend- Yeah man, I've been avoiding the trek ones a bit. After our last brotherly treatment of one another on the other article, I can't bring myself to debate ya man.

;D

Plus I don't know...trek09 really wasn't even my fav. Come on...everyone knows- Star Trek: First Contact was the best Trek film ever made ;D

Oh and yeah dude I'd love to see the warrior aspect of Jor-El explored this time around. It would be pretty cool. And yeah man, no doubt the costumes should blow us all away. I'm curious though...do you think they will mo-cap Jor-El and Lara?

Coon all the way. hahahaha.

Still love when the Coon beat up that little girl at the airport...then he tried to make it seem like she became this huge monster hahahaha. Nice way to try to justify beating her up. lol

I want Professor Chaos to make a huge comeback.

YEEESSSSSS!!! THANK GOD!! Looks like Russell Crowe lost a lot of weight for this role like he said he would!!

Who the hell is the guy in the CGI suit? He sure doesn't like like Michael Shannon! I'm still holding out hope that Metallo is in this. If that's the case it will definitely separate this film from the Reeve's one.

@LP4: Mysterion ALL DAY EVERYDAY!!! lol I love South Park. I see it as the next Simpsons. To be on the small screne forever. The day they cancel the show will be a sad day in hell indeed.

I hope Crowe keeps the goatee for his role as Jor-El too. It makes him look wiser and cooler

@Warrior: LMFAO @Russ-El That was a good one.

@JULEZ- MYSTERION???? Eh...Kenny should stop playing superhero.

;D

Coon is the best. Only the Coon would reference Superman teaming up with Lex Luthor as a way to justify him teaming up with that giant monster (forgot its name lol)

And yeah, Simpsons...are...meh. I used to like it but i haven't watched it for YEARS. South Park is the only one i'm really heavy on.

LOLZ - oh come now - my collar isn't bothering you is it? I'm not exactly your typical clergyman. I get the best reactions when I'm playing with that band I mentioned - no one knows how to react. I pride myself in being a nerd behind my Service.

I'm hyped for Man of Steel. I was pretty surprised to hear of Crowe's involvement at all. I have to admit I'm intrigued, but I hope they don't copy the Smallville model of Jor El & Zod.

@LP4: Lol true, i forgot about his Superman/LexLuthor reference.

Like I explain it to my friends, when you're a kid you watch and love the Simpsons. As you get older and more mature you start getting into other things like Family Guy and South Park. I still watch The Simpsons from time to time but mainly for nostalgic reasons.

So you have changed your name back I see! lol I like that avatar better. It looks cool.

@Reverend- Hahahaha yeah i told her i was debating Star Trek...she knows I'm a MAJOR geek...I think she...kinda...expected me to be late picking her up, LMAO. But sometimes i am on here sooooo much she gets angry at me...yells. I may sound tough on this site but when it comes to my gf...i have to admit...she is the tough one.

=(

And yeah...you being clergy and all...I just feel like...i can't...CAN'T debate you on anything dude. I mean...it doesn't feel right.

@JULEZ- EWWWWWWWWWWWWWW family guy. I hate that show. Season 1 was ok but the random cut-scenes and lame gags get annoying. What I love about South Park is...they have unique brands of humor compared to Family Guy. And South Park has better stories.

Family Guy is just one cut-scene after another and sometimes they are way too random. lol.

I mean with South Park there are way too many funny characters. Randy is one of my favs. But Cartman is my #1 and always has been since the show first debuted in '97 ;D

Butters should really get his own spinoff show, he's sooooo funny and i love how he always gets screwed over somehow.

Al Gore= THE GREATEST CELEBRITY CAMEO ON THE SHOW EVER!!! Manbearpig FTW!!!

I'm super serial

D'ya have a PM addie of some kind, lad... blame it on the padre... if I read it right, the Big Man does indeed have a sense of humor...

...He let 'Superman 3' happen, right? (btw, I have a story from when I was a boy about that movie).

Clergy or not, mate - I do loves me a good rowe (all in good fun tho)
JULEZ13
JULEZ13 - 8/29/2011, 10:31 PM
@ReverendJonnyNemo: lol. Being a female I'm a minority in the geek world, my boyfriend never really mentioned it even though every time he calls me and asks what I'm up to I say blogging about cbms. One time I realized he just paused. He was shocked to find out how much of a geek I really was, but he doesn't complain, thank the good Lord above.

@LP4: I like Family Guy. I find myself doing/saying a lot of random stuff sometimes so I guess I can relate lol, I find it pretty funny. But I prefer South Park. I would have to agree with you. South Park actually has real storylines that are funny.

I love Randy too. He's a nut job! I never thought that he would actually become one of the main characters when the show first aired, he sure has come a long way. I love Eric though. That guy is hilarious!

Butters should not get his own spin-offs. He's funny the way they use him. He's the type of character that if he's overused he will lose his funny-factor. Same happened to Cleveland from Family Guy, there was no need for a spin-off but they did it anyway and the show is mediocre at best.

@JULEZ- Yeah i completely agree, Randy is GREAT. He's hilarious! I loved when he told Stan about his boyband past, and when he got all obsessed with World of Warcraft...he was hilarious when he became an alcoholic and he believed it was an ACTUAL disease hahahahaha so he cut in line in front of people with REAL diseases hahahaha.

@Reverend- I'll PM ya! ;D

I P.M with JULEZ all the time. So she's seen my kid and stuff...
