A long time ago, before Snyder had even cast Henry Cavill in the role of Superman, a rumor arose that the villain-or one of the villains in his reboot would be Doomsday, the vicious beast responsible for Superman's death in a comic storyline.
Details were sketchy even then. It was basically just one of those " I heard it through the grapevine" type deals. Many hoped it was true but when Snyder began to reveal details of the movie including who the actual villain would be (General Zod) most people forgot all about Doomsday. But then we heard that Faora would be joining Zod and as set pics began to leak from Plano we were greeted with the site of this guy..
He has come to be affectionately known as Mo-Cap Man. At first many assumed that he might be standing in for a CG incarnation of Michael Shannon's Zod, perhaps a vision while stuck in the Phantom Zone or something. But then the above pic leaked. Notice the slightly enlarged gloves and the eyeline device on his head, generally used when an actor is standing in for a much larger character to be added in post. I firmly believe that this guy will be some sort of CG creature for Supes to spar with. Who is the most likely creature? My money's on Doomsday who could be used as a mindless pawn of Faora in these scenes. The scenes of destruction around the Plano sets certainly suggest a major dust up but that may just be the aftermath of a tussle with Faora. I don't know, it's just a theory. What do you guys reckon?
