TDKR: Joseph Gordon Levitt Comments On Robin Rumors, But Don't Expect A Straight Answer!

While promoting his latest movie 50/50 Levitt responds to an outright question by MTV on which character he is really playing in TDKR. Robin? The Riddler? Think you will find out?..

Course you won't. But watch the video below and see if you can discern anything from Levitt's answers..

"You know I can't have this conversation, man," he laughed when asked point blank if he'd be playing Robin in "Dark Knight Rises" during a conversation with MTV News at the Toronto International Film Festival, where he was promoting his latest movie, "50/50." "I can't have this conversation."

"You know, we're working on a Batman movie," he said about the experience. "Batman is a very dear character that precedes the recent Chris Nolan trilogy. I think it's cool that people care a lot about it and are very interested in what we're doing."

What we do know, or at least what we have been told, is that Levitt is playing a Gotham City cop called John Blake. But many fans are convinced this is misdirection and that he is in fact playing a more established character from Batman mythology. Personally I really don't think he is, but it is a bit unusual that he didn't just come right out and put a stop to the rumors as would normally be the case. I guess Mr Nolan likes to keep everyone guessing.

If Chris Nolan decides to include Robin, I hope it will be darker and without the trunks like the Arkham Asylum Robin.

I hope, like Inception, he gets a really good role and doesn't end up being on screen for only a short while. He's one of my favourite actors at the moment and has come a long way since '3rd rock from the sun.'

God these rumors...

"If you take the first two letters of John, and the last two letters of Blake, it spells JOKE! He's the Joker!"

durrrrrrrrr

Seriously, he's a cop working for the League of Shadows. He gets shot in the head. Just wait.

@ Spectre

Anarky? where the hell did you pull that out of? lol

@ smoka

is it really being an asshole when it has been confirmed countless times that:

1. Robin will not be in Nolan's bat-films.
2. Riddler will not be in TDKR.
3. Nolan will never recast Joker out of respect for Ledger.

These are all things that Nolan himself has confirmed, yet people still act like they're possibilities.

Does it really make me an asshole for pointing that out and finding it ridiculous that people STILL speculate these things?
CorndogBurglar
CorndogBurglar - 9/19/2011, 11:34 AM
and hey, if he ends up being Robin, i'll eat my words and admit that i was wrong.

But it isn't going to happen.

@ smoka

I've been on this site for almost 3 years, believe me, I know about speculating, and do a ton of it myself. But why speculate something that has already been confirmed as not happening?
