Ant-Man Script Could Feature Multiple "Ant-MEN"

Ant-Man Script Could Feature Multiple "Ant-MEN"

Nothing to solid, but Attack The Block director and co-writer of the Ant-Man script certainly hints that at least one draft had more than one incarnation of the character..

While speaking to The Playlist about turning down an offer to direct Die Hard 5 (now titled A Good Day To Die Hard) the writer/director confirms that he and Ant-Man director Edgar Wright have turned in their final draft for that movie to Marvel and that he is very proud of it. But it seems that nothing is set in stone. Cornish says it's in Marvel's hands now. But intriguingly he also responds to a prompt from The Playlist that the script could possibly feature not only Hank Pym, but some other "Ant-Men"..

From The Playlist

As for whether or not the movie itself is moving forward remains up in the air. “I don’t know, man. I’d love for it to happen but it’s really up to Edgar and Marvel,” Cornish said. We had heard that at one point Cornish and Wright were going to put several of the Ant-Men (meaning people that had put on superhero scientist Hank Pym’s suit) into the script, meaning that they could have thrown in our personal favorite Ant-Man – Eric O’Grady, low-level S.H.I.E.L.D. Agent turned shadily “Irredeemable” Ant Man.

Cornish smiled at our implication and said, slyly, “No comment.” He then started to say something, “Well, you know…” before shutting himself off with another “No comment.”

Take from that what you will, I know I have! So if and when the movie does go into production and does end up with more than one Ant-Man, how would you guys feel about it?

Why the [frick] has this taken so long?!! This was going ahead, when the CBM boom was still fresh, way before Marvel Studios became an independant company and way before they were bought by Disney. We were supposed to have Ant-Man as one of the pre-Avengers movies, but got Iron Man , instead. More Downey Jr. at the top of his game, sure, but I know what I would've preferred. Now Ant-Man isn't even going to be in The Avengers! If he's not in The Avengers because they want him to be introduced in Edgar Wright's Ant-Man film, then wouldn't it be [frick]ing stupid if there was no Ant-Man film either and Joss could've used Ant-Man, after all? Besides, if Edgar's been working on this film as long as this, then it's bound to be of the caliber of Shaun of the dead or even better, as oppose to the calibur of Hot Fuzz (Good but not quite as good) or Scott Pilgrim (rushed and lacking).
That was quite the rant. Sorry.

Not interested in this at all. Just my opinion, I hate Ant Man and I'm glad hes not in Avengers. It would have been cool to see Hank Pym, but the Ant Man character just doesn't appeal to me.

Hank Pym should be played by Rick Moranis, and those multiple Ant-Men should be his kids.

I have doubts that the general movie audience will accept this. Just get to work on Cap 2 and Black Panther.

No no no..one Ant-man, and one only!
This is why Ironman 2 wasn't as special as IM1...once you introduce more than one of the same style charcter..everything that was great about the initial guy gets lost. I know fans wanted War Machine, but I think that's what brought IM2 down a bit...it lost what made Stark one of a kind.

blah, blah, blah I hate Ant-Man blah, blah, blah he would make the avengers lame blah, blah, blah so lame blah, blah, blah.

[frick] you, man. How are you gonna come on this thread and be this kind of an ass-hole. "Just my opinion" Why don't you go eat a dick, dude?! Your not original. Guaranteed your bias against Ant-Man is a result of the way you've misinterpreted what it means to be a hero.

Have you even read a comic? Ant-Man is one of the most influential characters in the Marvel U, and just because he doesn't live up to your bull-shit, superficial expectations for superheroes, doesn't mean that he should be written out of the MCU. If your looking for meathead porn why don't you go pick up a Batman, you [frick]ing moron.

Years ago Edgar said that their first draft had Hank Pym and Scott Lang. I wouldn't be surprised if they try to squeeze everyone connected to the character into the movie, at least as easter eggs.

As long as it has taken them to write the script, if it gets made and doesn't get nominated for a Golden Globe or Academy Award, I'm going to be highly disappointed! They really are setting peoples' expectations high for this. It better be good.

As long as Pym is a PRESENT DAY hero and not from the 60s or whatever, fine. But Pym, not any other Ant-Man, PYM should be with Wasp, should build Ultron and should join the Avengers!

Yea. An Agent Coulson movie would be way cooler than Ant-Man. Angent Coulson is way more like Batman than Ant-man is. Oh wait. Nobody gives a shit about what you have to say.

multiple generations of a hero at the same time sounds more like something that would make sense in a Flash movie, especially if time travel is incorporated into the film. still, it sounds like something that could be cool if it was done well.

Uummmmm......I'm not sure what this is about. Are they saying that they'll have more than one Ant-Man in this movie? Like, cameos of characters like Scott Lang, or Eric O'Grady, or Chris McCarthy? I'm just confused, that's all. :)

I think that maybe Aaron Eckhart will do great as Henry Pym, IMO.

Henry Pym - Substitute Reed Richards/Tony Stark complete with ray gun and biochemical contraptions.

Janet van Dyne - awesomely cute ditz

People who hate Henry Pym and only remembers him as a wifebeater and thinks him just like the Atom - dumbass

some sort of drama involving his technology would explain his absence from the avengers pilot, and set-up the banter between stark and pym.
