Are WB Already Scouting Locations For A MAN OF STEEL Sequel?

It seems to be a growing trend that studios are green lighting sequels before the first movie is even released, but could WB be thinking about shooting locations for a follow up to Zack Snyder's Man Of Steel already?

Here is an interesting report from a local in Yorkville where Zack Snyder has previously filmed many scenes for the movie..

Word is that there is a sequel is already in the works. Crews checking site in Yorkville IL where the Kent house was/is and Plano Il / AKA Smallville for next film...shhhh they tell me. Oops

Oops indeed! Obviously we can't take this as Gospel, but really it's not even that surprising if true. These days studios, Warner Bros. especially, seem very fond of looking into follow ups to potential blockbusters before said movies have even made a single cent. Granted actual location scouting would be unusual, but they may just be getting the jump while they are in the area anyway. We have also heard a previous rumor that suggested WB are looking for a new writing team for a sequel, so this would lend credence to that. Hey I'm all for it, shows they have confidence in Snyder to deliver. Then again, just keep Green Lantern in mind eh fellas!

If it's true, then I'm not surprised. I mean after TDKR, they have nothing else other than Supes. GL sequel might happen, but it won't be anytime soon. They are looking ahead for obvious reasons. Too bad GL failed though, because this is the main reason why every CBM needs to be a success. So studios can make MORE adaptations. We'll see what happens.

Nice find @Ror.

That's pretty ballzy of the studio. They must be very confident they have a winner on their hands. I hope it's true.

And before they finished GL they already had the writers begin writing the sequel for that. Who cares? Warner Bros. is full of morons. I wish they didnt own DC.

I have high hopes for The Man of Steel, but lets just wait to see how it is. Cavill looks great EXCELLENT Choice. But their choice for Lois is very odd and the fact that Zod is the villain is already EXTREMELY disappointing.

They wouldn't be scouting areas where they have already shot. That's pointless. I'd say its more likely they'll be going back for another round of shooting for Man of Steel.

Im super hyped for Man of Steel, more than Iron man 3 and TDKR. This movie could be really REALLY awesome if they want it to be. Fingers crossed.

A report from a local? That is some serious journalism going on here.

My friend's mother said she heard from her friend who was at the hairdresser that they were shooting a Superman film in their town. Oh...wait a minute, that was the first one... Rumors get started the darndest ways. :-P

Ranger, they are trusted sources..otherwise I wouldn't have posted it. My God, if you guys knew the amount of sheer bullshit we sift through on a daily basis. If we posted every "rumor" we got that's all you would see on the site.

@Shocktron- I repent . Forgive me. Boobs are dirty...I see that now. Thank you. Thank you for guiding me from my wickedness. I personally apologies to you, and ask that Jesus bless you for your apologetics. I feel better now...but that could be attributed to the Jack Daniels.

Now I feel compelled to help you!

Ror@ Perhaps you should add or put "from a trusted source" as opposed to just a "report from a local". It sends a different message to the reader and I wouldn't have made the comment I did make. Just an observation. There's an awful lot of articles posted here that end up being debunked, so I don't get overly confident in the sources that are out there, trusted or not, but it does change the way I react to an article as to how the source is defined.

Most information out prior to this has indicated this will be a one shot film. After the debacle that was SR, I would think they would approach a sequel much more cautiously this time around.

@superargo I see your point...sorry man but in which websites are you visiting? movie experts said that TDK is the greatest movie... don´t tell me about money because TDK is the best in Box office....and only greatest Marvel movies like Iron Man and Spider-Man 2 stand out but not in TDK level.. i know that both DC and Marvel have bad movies but
TDK..
.........
.........
Iron Man...............
.........
Spiderman 2

you´re very excited about Avengers but imagine DC puts together Batman and Superman in World´s finest? Avengers would sux....
Maybe Avengers, Man of steel and TDKR are going to be on TDK´s level... but who knows¡?... at this time

My question of the day is - What the hell will happen to all the Marvel and DC fanboys if those two companies ever merged into one giant comic book company.

It would be like step-brothers hahahaha

So not likely to happen but it's a funny thought.

WB should have a world's finest movie set for 2014. Supes and Bats need to meet before they get together with GL/Flash/Wonder Woman. I think the people who run the BCS run WB, they are both good at NOT giving the people what they want.

Woo hoo...This is filming pretty close to where I live! Trying not to get too excited because the last movie that started working on a sequel before they released their movie was Green Lantern...And we all know how that turned out.

And I've been saying all along that we need a World's Finest movie before a Justice League movie. The one that had Common as Green Lantern and that Jay Baruchel kid as Max Lord just sounded so shitty to me...

FYI: Warners has already greenlit (no pun intended) a GL sequel. They made their money back and more on the international box office, but Lively is being recast.
