More From Gina Carano On Playing WONDER WOMAN

We already heard that the tough as nails star of Haywire might be interested in the role should it come up, but now she seems to be properly campaigning for it..

last week Gina Carano was quizzed on whether she would consider donning the lasso and hot pants should DC/WB ever get moving on a Wonder Woman movie. She definitely seemed interested, saying that it had "come up" before. But now while speaking to Vulture about beating up Michael Fassbender in Steven Soderbergh's Haywire, she is once again posed the question and goes into a little more detail - stating that she would love to work with Nicholas Winding Refn (who has been campaigning to direct the movie) and talking a little about superhero flicks in general. Hancock is her favorite by the way!..

People have suggested you play Wonder Woman.

"I know! We even had a Wonder Woman reference in the film — did you catch it? One of the cops said something to me like, "Oh, chill out, Wonder Woman." And I thought that was so funny. I said to Steven, "You know there's a little rumor about me and Wonder Woman." And he said mischievously, "Oh, that's interesting."

Nicolas Winding Refn is plotting to do a Wonder Woman film. There are a couple of directors who want to do this one.

"Ooooh! That's very interesting because Drive, that had such a unique style and music, and I was like, "I recognize this from somewhere, but where?" And then later I realized it was Cliff Martinez, who had done the score for like 50 Soderbergh movies. So I was like, "Cool." I was into it. I would definitely be into working with [Refn]. One of my favorite superhero movies is Hancock — did you see it? If they could do a superhero movie in a more realistic fashion where you could actually believe in it, I would be up for that. It could still be playful, but that's what I'm representing — the fighting would be real. More than anything, I would want Wonder Woman to be believable, you know?"

For now of course this is all just talk, but you never know. Carano is a perfect match for the role physically, and by all accounts she ain't too shabby in the acting department either. Stranger things have been known to happen! If this were to, how would you feel about such a relatively inexperienced actress taking on such an iconic character?

Reviews say yes, but nothing spectacular. First role though, she can only bet better.

After recently seeing Christina Hendricks in that episode of FireFly, i have to say flat out NO to her as Wonder Woman. As hot as i find her to be, she's completely wrong for Diana. Carano on the other hand sure has the looks and physical skills. But i haven't seen her act yet.

Freaking love this chick. Love watching her in the octagon...she is the only reason i tuned in for Gladiators.
Agree with Ror...she can only get better with acting. Or so i hope lol.

I tripped out when i saw the trailer for Haywire. I found out about her when i tuned into the new American Gladiators. (She was Crush). She was also in a lot of the televised Strikeforce fights.
Thanks Tea and JDuke...now i am not going to get any work done lol.

When and if Wonder Woman is ever turned into a film, the casting for the character will be bad. This chick included.

Just the way it feels to me. This is one of those things they aren't going to get right.

C'mon GDSM, your boy is 6' and is Superman. No one is complaining cause dude looks the part. If Superman is 6', Wondy can be 5'8". Specially when she looks perfect for the part.

Now, can she act? No idea. Will have to watch something of her's...

I've been hearing things about Haywire, I plan on checking it out tomorrow. But as far as her for Wonder Woman, I say give her a shot.

Michelle Ryan is indeed a good choice, and she has acted and played a badass. But Carano is getting very decent remarks on her first starring role, comparing her to the Rock with her talent and charisma. Personally I think she'd rock as Wonder Woman, AND she wants the role.

I would LOVE to see her play Wonder Woman!
I think she will be a great actress!

I hate the fact that Refn guy, or whatever, want Hendricks.
HORRIBLE choice. She looks nothing like the amazonian warrior princess, Wonder Woman!
She does not have the correct face, voice, or body.
Yes, she could work out, but she is not Wondy. Not at all.

My vote is still for actress and model, Julia Voth...I know somw don't like having a model as an actress, but why is that bad?
Many are great! Charlize Theron is a famous model and actress, everyone loves her...Julia could be great also!

Julia would only need to work out, and get in shape.
She can handle action, she has the perfect look, she has everything needed for the role.

I would go for her and Gina!

julia voth is a knockout. i actually would prefer it if wonder woman would be a cgi movie as with all super hero movies. the characters would look more beautiful and you would have truly kick ass action. batmans costume is bad cause he cant move in it, can only fight in one direction lol

Yup, GINA is a good "CONTENDER" for the role.

Yeah, TEA@ we were touting GINA a long, long
time ago.
Damn,I'm OLD!
lol

GINA, VOTH, TAYLOR COLE, all very good considerations for the role.

With the "shorties" they keep choosing for SUPES
ya don't need a 6' giant-woman for WONDER WOMAN.

@Neo, I usually agree with you on things, but damn man, you're being silly here. There are tons of actors who are "short" yet don't look short on film. You know better than that. They can easily make her taller. She's a woman, since when are women tall? I'd rather have her look the part and can actually throw realistic punches than her being 6'1 (which for some reason is the only argument people have against her). Wonder Woman isn't a giant. I don't understand why people can't grasp this concept. She's Wonder Woman not Giant Woman.
