I've stopped myself getting too excited for movie tie-in games a long time ago but this one does look pretty good. That music is really unusual too, I like it. The game was scheduled to be released sometime in the Summer, but now we have an official release date of June 26, 2012. Thanks to RIMM7 for the heads up.

Oh, and check out the Spidey-belt!

It actually looks good. I wish they had done away with the effects when you hit someone. But I will still give it a try.

that belt is actually pretty awesome. It'd be cool if they implement it in the movie or the sequel

to the writer of this article... You do know this game picks up where the movie leaves off right??? its not based ON the movie itself, its almost a sequel. they didnt want to do a game based on the movie itself becuase they know how ad they are

Rhino is kind of a favorite to put in video games. I'm pretty sure he was one one of the PS1 games and he definitely appeared in both Spider-man 2 and Ultimate Spider-man.

That belt helped the suits look a lot actually. I love him having a belt on top of the suit, what I've been saying all along. Now if the movie is good all that needs to happen is have the movie be in the MCU. But sadly that is doubtful to happen. :(

I want this game. I love how rhino looks and i love the itsy bitsy spider theme behind the images. What i dont get is that tje director and Andrew Garfield said thst despite the trailer being dark, it isn,t and the trailer for the game is suggesting that the game is really dark. Its a bit awkward. Still, this game is on my list.

Agreed that Rhino looks awesome. From the looks of the trailer this is definitely worth giving a shot. There have actually been quite a few comic-to-video games that I have been impressed by in recent years -- if anything it's a great platform to showcase our favorite superhero's (and villain's) abilities.

AutobotCommander84 - 2/23/2012, 12:25 PM
Actually, I noticed something quite strange. Last year's Transformers 3 game was rushed to meet the release date of the film, but the Fall of Cybertron game gets more time. Spider-Man: Edge of Time, an original non-movie tie-in, is subpar in quality and we are promised a better game in a movie tie-in because it got MORE time.

Spiderman has always had a utility belt were he just keeps tracers extra cartridges and the spider signal it under his shirt, never like it outSide in the old tv shoW and it looks weird now.
Genetic rhino looks weird guess of it always being a suit he can never take off.
thewolfx
thewolfx - 2/23/2012, 12:36 PM
@GL PRIME

i agree , never liked it outside the suit but considering how much i hate this new costume i think any belt is an improvement.

also rhino being a hybrid doesnt bother me that much but it does make him naked now ..which is creepy

Amazing! I am so getting this. In addition to Rhino, I wouldn't mind seeing Electro or maybe Mysterio as other classic villains to fight.
Viltrumite
Viltrumite - 2/23/2012, 12:55 PM
I wonder if the Lizard and Rhino are indicative of the way the villains will be portrayed in this universe. Instead of embodying the name of character trait/gimmick, they ARE that trait. Perhaps later on, we'll see an Electro completely comprised of electricity, or a Green Goblin closer to the Ultimate incarnation of the character? Or maybe I'm just sleep deprived and over thinking this.

It's insane how much that belt fixes that otherwise hideous costume.
