I'm sure the horror hounds among you will have seen, or at least heard of, Kightbreed. It was a 1990 horror/fantasy flick directed by Clive Barker and based on his own novella Cabal. The movie was a critical and commercial failure but went on to garner a bit of cult status. It's actually not too bad, only losing it's way completely towards the end. There was certainly the potential there for a very good movie, especially considering the book it's based on is so enjoyable. It also spawned a brilliant comic series from Epic. Anyway, now it seems we might be getting a tv series. Barker revealed the following in an interview posted to his blog..

"We are also actively in conversation about doing a Nightbreed television series which will be for cable, so it will have a chance to be as sexy or as graphic in terms of the violence as we need it to be."

And believe me, if it is to be a faithful adaptation it will need to be VERY graphic. The writer also weighed in on one potential reason the movie may not have been as successful as it could have been, and why it may find a much bigger audience today..

"The sensitivity of our culture has sort of caught up with Nightbreed. I don’t wish to be immodest but the general sense is that the movie failed because people didn’t want to associate with the monster and I think our culture has changed – I think our culture is now ready to embrace the ambiguity. You’ve only got to look at Twilight where obviously the monsters are the good guys – I’m not a huge fan but I’m enough of a fan to watch and see monsters being celebrated."

Here is a trailer for the movie, which is quite a bit better than it looks here..
