So knightfall and TDKR combined.

Awesome!! Its the final chapter in Nolan's trilogy so of course he is gonna go all out. Especially since it sounds like there is going to be a ton of chaos, destruction, and death.

My belief is that Bruce uses the cane due to his fall at the end of TDK. After his fall, Batman was limping pretty bad. This leg injury could be his physical price he paid and his leg will never be the same. We can all count on Bane exploiting Bruce's injury to take down the Bats.

It sounds like TDKR is going to live up to the hype. If they are saying that it's like a great disaster film, which would mean a lot if action. FTW!

That would make sense if in the same movie we didn't see him fall into a car while trying to catch Rachel or jump onto a moving van and crush it inwards. Not to mention how he seemed to be just fine after being carried away by a jet!! No whiplash? That's good.
I just can't believe that fall messed him up.

I think his injuries and walking with a cane are not just the result of his battle with the Joker but rather the physicall toll that 8-9 years of crime fighting and tragedy has taken on Bruce Wayne.

This is a guy who has been suffering since the night of his parents' deaths. With the lifestlye that Batman's character has, he shouldn't be able to live a long life.

Maybe Batman broke his back when he fell of the building saving Gordan's son.

as far as im concerned he was gone for 8 years, not still fighting crime and we have skipped forward because the villains werent interesting

he is "reviled and MIA". as in MISSION IN ACTION aka NOT FIGHTING VILLAINS FOR THE SAKE OF (now) CAMEOS

surely everything we know so far points to the fact he was never batman in those 8 years. nothing we have heard in any way would allude to the idea he was still at it all that time

in the comic he does, they obviously dont exist/yet in nolans films, is he supposed to make referenc to a load of them purely because if he doesnt it makes u think he is forgetting about them or doesnt care about the source material.

in terms of the final days thing, its a 3 act structure just like within a single film itself, 1 set up, 2 conflict, 3 resolution. the reason 3rd films are usually crap is because they dont finish things properly by aiming to just another second act, like spiderman 3, that was only the last in that run because they decided to leave it there, it wasnt a resolution for the character which was a shame after a great 1st and 2nd act.

im glad TDKR is the last, its more dramatic and interesting that way than if its just another sequel, unless bruce wayne or batman dies then its just the end of a chapter for a character in his history.

bb and tdk were in batmans early years, he just wasnt expecting for the joker to cut his time as batman short and probably then wasnt expecting to have to return to stop bane. batman carrying on fighting crime as normal after then would seem contrived and only happening to make money like it happens alot in the comics.

Still The Avengers will be a very tasty Milk Shake, and I look forward to it. But not nearly as much as I look forward to TDKR. Both movies have my money, but I'm pretty sure I will see TDKR multiple times, since I live right across the street from the best IMAX theater in the state of Texas.
