It Seems Marvel Are Bringing Us Another Solo HULK Movie After All

It appears Marvel may have changed their tune when it comes to The Green Goliath, thanks to unforeseen fan support for the character in The Avengers. We even have talk of a 2015 release date..

Forbes have posted an article on Marvel's 5 year build up to The Avengers, which includes some very interesting quotes from Marvel's Paul Gitter. It seems that despite Kevin Feige seemingly dismissing the idea of another solo movie outing for The Hulk, strong fan reaction to Mark Ruffalo's take on Bruce Banner and his CG alter ego may have them thinking twice. Gitter says Marvel are “pleasantly surprised by the phenomenal response. His [Hulk's] sales are up in a major way. We repositioned him from where he was always misunderstood to now depicting him in a more heroic and aspirational manner.". According to Gitter, this means another solo Hulk movie in 2015..



If the Hulk’s successful turnaround continues, Gitter says Marvel will 'spin him off to a stand-alone [TV] program next year,' supported by a big budget franchise movie in 2015."


The tv series (which will be produced by Guillermo Del Toro) we already knew about, but the news about the movie should make fans of "the other guy" very happy indeed. If this does come to pass, any particular comic storylines you guys would want to see adapted? What villains would you like to see get smashed?

Everybody who has seen Avengers have been saying Hulk steals the show. One would think that a Hulk movie would be a step in the right direction. Plus not to mention the Incredible Hulk had a reference to The Leader, which I would like to see play out and hopefully introduce She Hulk.

i think if they made another hulk film it'll be better recieved than the last on the strength of his performance in the avengers.

do it marvel & have joss whedon involved some way,he knows what people want to see.

It would definitely get more attention and money after the Avengers. Just like Green Lantern and other not as well know heroes (heroes who aren't Superman or Batman) would after a Justice League movie.

Knew the TV show was in the works, and there is an animated Hulk show coming too, so him getting his own spin-off out of Avengers makes sense. Keep Ruffalo, bring back Liv Tyler, and John Hurt, and bring back uded playing Sterns to be the Leader. Throw in Absorbing man done right an viola, Hulk movie!

Predicted this one. They would have to be dense not to get this one moving after all the hoopla about Hulk in Avwngers. Whatever it is about, Hulk should be the last movie before Avengers 2.

I just don't know how I feel about a Hulk TV show... I just feel like it won't do the character justice, though I guess CGI in TV show is becoming more and more advanced/common.

Hulk was possibly the best part of that movie, and that's saying something seeing as how it was an amazing movie. They did a damn good job of making up for the last two Hulk movies with this.

I don't care what anyone says. The Incredible Hulk was a pretty kick-ass movie. I'm hopeful that they will make a sequel. Haven't seen Avengers yet, but from what I've heard Ruffalo should be able to carry a solo film.

If they do another Hulk movie (or a TV series), they need to have the Hulk TALK. The biggest disappointment of the old TV series as well as the previous two Hulk movies was that we didn't have the Hulk speaking. Having him get shot at or blown up while beating up tanks or CGI villains simply isn't enough.

They'd be leaving a lot up in the air if they don't use The Leader in the next film. Unless, of course, the television show actually deals with events between TIH and the sequel, putting The Leader in the role of the primary villain.

the marvel cinematic universe needs to get bigger because if they're planning on using thanos,they need as many characters as possible for thanos & the infinity gauntlet to actually work.
