John Leguizamo Joins KICK-ASS 2 Cast

It seems this one is finally picking up steam. The versatile actor has signed on to star as a character named Javier in the Jeff Wadlow directed sequel to the awesome Kick-Ass..

Deadline reports that John Leguizamo (Spawn, Land Of The Dead, Summer Of Sam) is the first new cast member to sign on to star in the upcoming sequel to Mathew Vaughn's Kick-Ass. Apparently he will play Javier, one of the bodyguards assigned to protect Red Mist (this time calling himself "Motherfuc*er", leader of "The Toxic Mega-c*nts) played by the returning Christopher Mintz-Plasse.

Aaron Johnson and Chloe Moretz are also set to reprise their roles, and interestingly, Deadline also report that Nicolas Cage is too. As we know, his character Big Daddy dies in the first movie so I have no idea if this is a mistake, or there will be flashbacks or something. We'll clear it up as soon as we have more details anyway.

This is good news. I loved the first film and I'm hopefully optimistic about the sequel. Wish Vaughn would come back to the director's chair though.

Extremely underrated actor. I think John Leguizamo is a great actor but has chosen a hand full of bad roles that over shadow his talent.

He is also has some great stand up comedy. He is all around a class act.

My point is I don't think John Leguizamo is a bad actor but more half of the movies he starred in sucked.

He's an extremely talented actor and comedian! I think that he just isn't offered many good roles because of his ethnicity. He does have a very distinctive look. Just because he has been in a few stinkers doesn't mean he can't act. He has to make a living. Cut him some slack!

All you TDKR fanatics love Michael Caine and hold him in high esteem as an actor. That guy NEVER passed on a paycheck his entire career! For a time there back in the day it seemed like he was in 5-6 movies a year.

Including such gems as,...

The Hand, Mr. Destiny, Jaws: The Revenge,
On Deadly Ground, and, The Swarm!

please let the filmmakers remember that part 1 was very serious and solemn at times, and don't let this film turn in to over the top exploitation garbage.

John Leguizamo was great in romeo and Juliet, as well as Moulin Rouge. The guy is good, he just needs to fire his agent.

@ BossWalsh- Touche sir! I must concede in light of your well thought out and witty retort. You truly are representative of today's youth. A shining example we must all look to, while pondering the inadequacies of the current academic infrastructure.
