In the futuristic action thriller Looper, time travel will be invented - but it will be illegal and only available on the black market. When the mob wants to get rid of someone, they will send their target 30 years into the past, where a "looper" - a hired gun, like Joe (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) - is waiting to mop up. Joe is getting rich and life is good... until the day the mob decides to "close the loop," sending back Joe's future self (Bruce Willis) for assassination. The film is written and directed by Rian Johnson and also stars Emily Blunt, Paul Dano, and Jeff Daniels. Ram Bergman and James D. Stern produce.

Looper is set to hit theaters September 28th.

Awesome. Everything of this movie is, actually.

The make-up department has done a great job in transforming Joseph Gordon-Levitt into a plausible younger version of Bruce Willis.

Unless the Older Bruce Willis is successful, (in which case he'd die as soon as he kills his younger self) wouldn't he remember trying to kill himself? I'm going to have issues with this already. LOL

My friend went to an early screening of this and praised it HIGHLY. She's a fan of Brick too do she knows what the director is capable of. I'm [frick]ing stoked!

It'll probably end up with the younger one helping the older one fake his own death.

@badrat But if he is successful, and he dies as soon as his younger self dies, his younger self would never be his older self, therefore stopping his older self from going back in time to kill his younger self, which causes his younger self to become his older self, and the cycle repeats.

Theory of time and space: Once time, specifically the past, is breached, an alternate time stream occurs and all things can change. It doesn't affect Bruce Willis' future because as far as he's concerned, it doesn't exist anymore, not the future of his original world anyway.
The past that Bruce was sent to was not his own because he already lived it. Therefore, killing either one is possible without any effect on the time-space continuum.

I'm sorry, I just don't buy JGL as young Bruce Willis. I shouldn't have as big a problem with it as I do, I know. I'm the guy who thinks Clark Kent is a legit disguise for Superman. I understand the hypocrisy. I just... I can't.

@badrat Bruce isn't trying to kill his younger self it's the other way around, Bruce is trying to stop the people in charge while JGL just wants to get the job done
