Here is the official blurb on Zaror's casting..

"LOS ANGELES, CA (August 20, 2012) Marko Zaror, an international martial arts action star, just finished filming Machete Kills, the sequel to Robert Rodriguez's cult favorite Machete. Zaror joins an all-star ensemble cast, including Lady Gaga, Charlie Sheen, Mel Gibson, Sofia Vergara, and Jessica Alba. Zaror, dubbed the Bruce Lee of Latin America, is cast as Zaror (which happens to be his real last name), henchman to Mel Gibson's villainous character.

Rodriguez was quick to comment, "I've been a big fan of Marko's for years, and I even created this role specifically for him. He is an incredible martial artist with physics defying speed and agility, and he has a great movie star presence. I'm sure we'll be working together again soon."

For Zaror, this was an incredible opportunity. "To get a chance to work with Robert Rodriguez was a dream of mine since I saw El Mariachi. He has made some of the coolest characters ever. I am honored to have had the experience to work with him and his exceptional team," says Zaror.

Zaror is currently working with producing partner and manager, Derek Rundell, and writer/director Ernesto Diaz Espinoza, from RONNOC Entertainment on their next film, Violent Rider. This is the same trio that brought us fan favorites, Kiltro, Mirageman, and Mandrill. In addition, Zaror will be joining One Good Thing written by Todd Brown [ed: That's me!] and the team that brought us The Raid."

In the sequel, the U.S. government recruits Machete to battle his way through Mexico in order to take down an arms dealer who looks to launch a weapon into space.

I've completely lost faith in Rodriguez. Machete was a terrible movie. Acting was so over the top and ridulous and no chracteres were remotely relatable. The script was bad...I mean bad. And the action was so stylized that it was on the verge of cartoonish. This sequel looks like an Expendables rip off. Lets get washed up stars like Mel Gibson and Charlie Sheen and put them in this shite movie. Okay, awesome. Least the Expendables is entertaining. Oh and where is Sin City 2???? Won't see that until another Spy Kids sequel.

a chilean martial actor joins to Machete & Robert Rodriguez. ...but when real actors and talented are not dolls expressionless as Cristián de la Fuente or brainless gorilla as Marko Zaror will have a chance to act in Hollywood???

I'm an actor, my background is small at the moment, my experience in television and film practically zero, but I have talent, maybe I'm not looking, but as I say I have talent and desire to succeed in life

while Marko Zaror gorillas and Mannequins and Cristián de la Fuente get all the glory in Hollywood, where his talent is null or does not exist, there are exceptions like Leonor Varela and Hurley from Lost fat that has relatives Chileans, for Leonor Varela is a talented actress but belonging to a wealthy family, while the rest of the Chilean actors prograsamos not for lack of opportunity, the state and the media, not to mention a system that exploits capistalista and delivery no benefit

¡¡¡MORE BENEFITS FOR CHILEAN AND LATINOS ACTORS IN HOLLYWOOD!!!. ...¡¡¡BUT WITH TALENTED!!!

@Optimus83: I totally agree with @MarvelChile, if you want more chilean people to be on Hollywood, you shouldn't be criticising for no good reason, Zaror has really earn it.

And for all the other people on Comicbookmovie.com I strongly recomend "MIRAGEMAN", which I think is the movie about a real life superhero that no superhero fan mustn't miss (In fact it kicks "Kick-ass"'s ass for its realism)

Here is a trailer of the movie, it's not the best resolution but its the only one I could find with English subtitles.

@Alejandroid Alejandroid apology, but I do not criticize for no reason

critical of much knowledge, because I am also an actor, fan comics and science fiction, I am also the author of Fan-Fic

or think that you have all the reasons or at least most of reasons to criticize and comment a little more valid and some content

and as I say my criticism is not your profession, if not the "talent" and the means to get up on it

something that is quite difficult in an unequal country like Chile where parentezcos are quite useful in any medium

For the guys saying its not a CBM: I very clearly see the top of an IDW comic in the article called Machete Kills. Sure it was probably made in to a comic after the movie started filming, but it looks to have a comic nonetheless. Did you happen to READ the article? Or did you just choose to make a deuche comment?

To the people saying they don't have faith in Robert Rodiquez anymore: Does it really only take 1 "bad" (the quotations are there because that is YOUR opinion, and not actual fact) movie to make you lose faith in a director? Rodriguez has given us Desperado, The Faculty, Once Upon A Time In Mexico, Sin City, and a few other classic action/sci-fi movies. And I personally loved Machete. I think you may be missing the point in a Robert Rodriquez movie.

To the guy who said Machete sucked because of the over-the-topness of it: Again, you definitely missed the point. It was SUPPOSED to be over the top. Maybe thats just not your cup of tea, but its not like it wasn't evident in the trailers, so if you know you don't like shit like that, you shouldn't have watched it to begin with.

*End Rant*

@Optimus83: What a shame that we wasted this opportunity to promote good chilean films, because of you, complaining for not having the same opportunities. I agree that there are many as much or even more talented than Marko Zaror, but people will never know about them if we waste these opportunities talking about what we don't like about just one guy.

And for all the people out there who just want to see a good superhero film, just watch "MirageMan", it will give you a lot to think about the whole superhero idea and the implications on bringing that idea to real life.

@Alejandroid Alejandroid believe me if there were opportunities to do so in my own country (Chile), believe me I would. ...

but as I say, Chile is an unequal country where only a privileged few have a chance to succeed

you can check with the minimum wage and the parliamentarians, also commonly called "honorable"

like the Chilean educational system, I could give a list of inequalities infinite only occur in Chile

such that we are the most exclusive of OCD and so a lot of issues

well far as I understand Machete is a Mexican film or Hollywood but

the only difference this time is that there is a Chilean actor apparently making villain

I do not know if the main, but with his experience as "double", guess it will be perhaps the henchman No. 4 because of its trajectory

and if you want to talk about movies Chilean recommend you go to theaters to see the comedy Stefan vs. Kramer or not but the film based on the story of the 1988 plebiscite that toppled dictator Augusto Pinochet

You really want an opportunity as an actor in an english spoken country, when your english level is.... let me put it in a way you wont get offended.... abismal?

Maybe those actors you mention have little or no talent at all, but at least they can speak english WAY much better than you. And the sad thing is, that people like you, who think they are better than they actually are will never accomplish anything. So, why dont you caught the bitterness and try to do something productive.

And as a fellow Chilean, Im proud of people like this guy, who can actually accomplish important things whether or not closed minded people, such as yourself do not consider them so.

Regards!

Dude for real you should not be talking crap about Zaror at all. The guy is making it thanks to his talent as a martial artist and if that's his ticket to bigger and better things in Hollywood then good for him. You make it sound like you're freakin' Deniro and this guy is getting picked over you for a role.

Props to Zaror for being cast in this movie. As a Chilean, I for one am happy whenever any of us makes it at anything that's worth mentioning in any sort of news.

Stop being so petty and be happy for the guy.

And btw, your English sucks a$$ so I don't see you making it one way or the other.

Zaror is gonna show em whats good and then they'll be like: "Chileans...never mess with Chileans"

@elbarto63 you just said it.If @Optimus83 wants to make it as an actor in USA or any other english speaking country, he MUST improve his english level and also work very hard in his frustrations, since opportunities are there if you know how to look it up for them (not only in acting but in life itself).
I´m also Chilean and feel proud to have one actor representing us in an action movie, so @Optimus83, instead of giving shit to the guy, better start wonderig how he did it, cause these kind of people (even the cheesy ones) had to do something right at the beggining of their carreers to be considered by any director.

@Chilenator is bad, it is true, but if one is "actor" must also be willing to listen to criticism, is also part of the trade to improve

I receive a lot of criticism from my teacher / director, peers, etc. ...Always and listen humbly to improve, and if it's as good as you say, to show for their work

what I should say "vale callampa" if it is as good as talking

and compare it with that of "Bruce Lee" is much, in my opinion is almost an insult to that icon of martial arts worldwide

I like his other nickname, at least find it more logical, as the "Jean Claude Van Damme Chileno"

and as I do not compare apples and oranges, if doing karate hueblo

hopefully not do Shakespeare at some future

put it in "The Expendeables" or "Machete" is all he can do

so do not expect to see him in a TDK, The Avengers or even Sweet November just because they like acting

have to be "realistic" in life

and I just said a reality, that may not like the rest, not very popular, but it is a reality
